    1. Mark that is a very interesting medal bar with a rare combination!!! Is it yours, do you know the original wearer???
    2. I don`t think it is brunswick, these are the typical yellow and blue tones of the iron crown....

    6. here is another closeup.... the clasp was fixed with a screw through the bar, often seen on early swords or clasps.
    7. here is a 1870 group with the silver medal and swordclasp... sorry for the poor quality. They are really hard to find.....

    9. of course you are right Rick, they were issued only in bronze and steel, but there were used many more materials to make them... I have a real silver DSWA-medal in my collection and I know of real silver china medals too..... but no official pieces of course!!!
    10. and not to forget, I am not shure about the combination of the battle clasps... seems to be impossible
    11. but if he started in 1866 mustn`t it be the "old type" long service clasp for the breast and not the 15y service cross which came up much later..........?
    12. and to show the tragedy of these fakes for the buyers AND dealers...: Kalies, a well known and good dealer from germany, has some of these (in my eyes) fakes for sale for up to 260 Euro!!!!!
    13. Ralph..... your battle clasp is a very new one, sorry one of the actual german fakes running on ebay every week....
