    1. Another photo which droped in my mailbox today , a typical trench scene with some veterans showing up before the camera you can see in their faces that they have seen more then anyone should in a lifetime. But the interesting thing is in the background A snipers armour , I´m not sure that they where used for snipers only but this is the first card I got in + 20 years of collecting showing this protection armour. The postman made my day Christer

Here is a guy from a Art unit ? with the 1916 helmet , and a Mauser pistol with wooden stock by his side ! Seller says for foreigner ..... is these all made up fakes or ? http://www.ebay.de/itm/Rumanien-Star-Orden-4-Klasse-Halsband-Romania-/130574757323?pt=Militaria&hash=item1e66dcadcb#ht_500wt_1287 christer
    4. And a closeup of the bar Hmm, I see now on the closeup That the second award probably is a Allgemeine Ehrenzeichen insted of the smaller Mezz ..... sorry for the wrong topic name but the scanner is fantastic showing details sometimes . Christer
    5. Here is a new photo in my collection, if i´m not wrong he has EKII, Kriegeverdienst , DA , and China with a bar ? Does anyone have a clue from what regiment he is or something else Regards from Sweden Christer

    7. This ribbon bar just arrived from a member and Gentleman of this forum This bar has really travelled around , from Germany in 1920´s to USA and then to France and now in Sweden of all places The bars orginal owner was Major Bernhard Prince zur Lippe-Biesterfeld 1872-1934, a interesting character in Lippe History His brother was Leopold IV Prince of Lippe and his son Prince Bernhard become married to Juliana of Netherlands. The Grand Cross of Lippe House order X was only awarded 5 times if I read my Ludwigssen right ? and Bernhard got his in 1914. A nice piece of history Christer
    8. Here is a new card in my collection , a proud French soldier from the Great war , with two medals on his chest and a shooting award cord ? He is in the 152 th Infantry regiment in Colmar and the photo is dated 1936. Now the same regiment is fighting in another war far away from Verdun, Ypres and Somme. The 152th are now in Afghanisthan if I´m correct, and maybe the shadow of this hard eyed fighter is looking over their shoulder. Christer.
    9. I have tried to find out how many of these crosses was awrded but , the only thing I can read in Books is that they are quite few Kleitmann says 183 awarded in 1916-17 if I remember right ? I have a Militaerpass to a soldier from Inf Rgt 361 and he got a cross in 1915.
    10. Here is my only Photo showing a German with 1918 Finnish Awards Kplt Karl Strauch , here in NDL uniform ombord Sierra Corboda 1936 He got a Liberty Cross 1918
    11. Well 400 E for a copy is still alot of money for a copy IMO . Since no one except Finnish citizens ever was awarded a Mannerheim Cross there couldnt be any real demand for a MH cross in Germany except for collectors. Christer
    12. The next one is a little more difficult to read First a Winter war medal wo Swords , probably meaning som behind front work than a 1941-45 medal - Home Front Cross (military service) - Northern Viena Cross - EK II Hmm Northern Viena Cross was awarded to thoose who was in 3rd Army corps The 3rd Army Corps fought in the north of Finland 1941 and fought at that time together with Waffen SS Div Nord Maybe some staff officer who fought together with SS div ?? an interesting combination Christer
    13. Here is some more ribbon bars First a two war fighter Liberty Cross 3rd class - Liberty Cross 4th class- Winter war medal- 1941-45 war medal - 11th Div Cross The 11th Division fought against the Germans in 1944 Lapland war which cost the small country of Finland 3940 casualties 1944-45
    14. Yep , what do you know , one of the rarest awards in the world ( 191 ) awarded and in class with the UK Victoria Cross , last I saw one for sale it had a start bid of 40 000 Euro !!! But on Ebay.de you can get one for no more than 100 E at the moment http://cgi.ebay.de/1569-Finnland-Orden-Kreuz-Freiheit-1941-/300589945560?pt=Militaria&hash=item45fc8e92d8 There is a small problem, as I belive it the real MH crosses are not allowed to leave Finland ? Can anyone confirm that... Christer
