Here is a Photo with Uoffz from Ers Batl 123 ravensburg October 1915 . The man in the middle with a cross on him is Anton Frick and in two years time he will be killed an leaving a young wife and two daughters behind But now I´m not wondering about Anton, I am curios about the Officer beside him. A würtemberg Officer with BMVK 1 .... or BMVK 2 ?? There cant be that many candidates , He also have som other awards, could anyone see what rank he have ? With the Rolls for Non Würtemberg awards to Würtemberger published I should be able to find him. Christer

I am also thinking that the last one is something other than Centennial medal , there is some foreign medals with yellow ribbon Siam ,Romania or maybe its some sort of inoffcial award ? Here is a thread on a Swedish forum where the bar is discussed http://www.samlarforum.nu/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=16764 there you can see who won it .... but no one could offer any help on the Swedish forum . Just bought this rather unusual ribbonbar At first it looks like any other private/Nco/officer bar with EKII - HEK - Hungarian WW 1 Med - Bulgarian Bravery Med - and .... Yes Official medal from Olympics in Sweden 1912 - and I think a 1897 medal at the end The 1897 seems a little bit odd to put after three foreign medals but stranger things have happen before . I wonder if there is a list of all Germans who participated in 1912 Olympics ? If that last one is a 1897 he must have been ? 20 then ?? which means around 35 years old 1912 so probably competing in Shooting or Horseriding etc and then into WW 1 (on eastern front) and survived Hmm Interesting Christer

Hmm nice bar and not hard to Id I suppose , I know how many Liberty Cross 2nd 1918 that was awarded and the combo must be unique These crosses were made in Germany by the way , by the firm Otto Oertel in Belin, while the medals were made by Sporrong in Sweden. But still 6600 Euro is a lot, but if I had that kind of money to spend on my hobby so why not Nice catch Christer

Sometimes when you see Woundbadges in Gold it makes you wonder what the story behind it is So here is a true story about a real survivor , at least until 1920 Lt Christian Phillip born 3 Sept 1893 , he was fighting from the beginning and fought the whole war on the Western front from 24 Sept 1914. He was in KB Inf Rgt 6 30 Feb 1916 he got his first award EK II and 6 months later he got wounded the first time of many... It was 4th Aug 1916 during fighting in Verdun that he was wounded in "Links oberschenkel" ? (1st Wound.) He got MVO IV x 8 jan 1917 and of course got wounded again May 3rd 1917 by handgrenade in left side of head (2nd wound) Sometime after that he got MVO IV mKr x and in Aug 1st another wound this time in Right arm by hand grenade (3rd wound) March 9 1918 he was awarded EK I and .... yes he was wounded again by a bullet in the head at Somme 28 Sept 1918 (4th wound) he got the Verwabz schwarz 1916, and in 1918 he got the one in Mattweiss and the war for Phillip wasn´t over yet ... He was fighting in Munich April 1919 and later in the year he was in Kurland / Riga and he was wounded again ! 10th Nov 1919 hit by bullet in the throat (5th wound) hmm But he still kept on fighting March 15th 1920 he got the final ? wound "Schwer Brustschuss Lunge" (6th wound) If anyone deserved a woundbadge in Gold he must be the man .... What I can see is that he was in "behandlung´" in July 20th 1920 and after that I lost trace of him.... Fascinating story Christer

I bought a very interesting ribbon bar from a forum member (hope you don´t mind that I borrowed your photo Christhope ) A five awards ribbonbar with EKII-HHO3x-OV3bx-FAII-EfF and of course its the OV3bx that makes it so unusual With only 33 awarded during WW1 I though I would try to narrow down the possible recipients. Here is the suspects: OberLt Richard Suhrkamp IR 91 Lt Eckert IR 91 Lt Pflugradt IR 91 Lt Hess IR 91 Lt Schumann IR 91 Lt Weichardt IR 91 Lt Becker IR 91 Lt Wilhelm Conze IR 91 Lt Max Büschel IR 91 Lt Helmut Gabriel IR 91 Lt Ernst Peltner IR 91 OberLt Fritz Hellmuth IR 91 Lt Stolz IR 91 Lt Lueder IR 91 OberLt Ziegler IR 91 Lt Carstens IR 91 Lt Franz Smits IR 161 OberLt zur See Heino von Heimburg KM OberLt zur See Max Valentin Uboat Com Lt Eckert IR 91 Lt Georg Röver RIR 74 Lt Karl Geise RIR 17 Lt Karl Arnold IR 115 OberLt Georg Ruhstrat FAR 58 Lt Reinhard Murken RIR 79 Lt Walter Böning Jagd Staffel 76 Lt Edward Gesell Pioneer Komp 185 Lt Friedrichsen RFA 17 Lt Siegfried Harms Fus Rgt 86 OberLt Ahlhorn IR 82 Lt Wegmann RIR 229 Lt Thien FAR 62 Lt von Essen FAR 62 Of these 33 we can remove some Thanks to Dave we are now down to : 14 ! Big Thank You Dave, from 28 to 14 [ Lt von Essen is a top candidate because he had exact these awards but do anyone have any info about how many of the above 28 (22) who had HHO3x ? or was killed during war or anything other info I will keep on searching !
