    1. Welcome Gerd! Nice to see you here! I'm sure you'll regognize this one!
    2. Now, now, you can't have ALL the prime real estate! Yours is a sweet example as well John - how about a reverse pikkie mate? ERIC
    3. AWESOME Paul! I can't remember ever seeing a Luft tunic belonging to a pharmacist before. You're getting quite the collection of exotic Luftwaffe 'wear Paul, congrats!! ERIC
    4. Thanks Jody! It took me years to find a zinc J3 in such good condition - usually, if you can find one, they're void of any of their original finish. ERIC
    5. Indeed, a lovely example showing honest wear - if she could only talk!! ERIC
    6. A fantastic Assmann 2nd pattern Jody! A true rarity in that condition!! ERIC
    7. That is really cool Johnsy! I would LOVE to see that up close and personal! Amazing how these things were saved and found their way into a museum. ERIC
    8. Aye matey, I'm believin shes a Henlein! Avast - the Hobacher "WH's have the 'WEIN' beneath the letters, mostly found on the Heer Flaks, and most of these are considered by many as fake badges. The only WH in Austria was Hobacher. The WH's on the Flak badges always stand alone without the additional WEIN marking. These are without question real badges. So, unless the Hobacher firm made at least two dies (dies for real badges ), one each for Army and Luftwaffe Flaks, and marked one with WEIN and the other without (doubtful), my vote would go to Walter & Henlein, Gablonz, the only other possible "WH" maker known. I personally have always referred to these Flaks as Walter & Henlein produced. Hopefully Marc can add something here to steer us in the right direction. ERIC
    9. Yeah John, I believe you're right - Modeled after the Walter Henlein Flak. ERIC
    10. Thanks Rich and John for the opinions and additional comments! As you can see I definately had some doubts with this one as well. No other pics John, this set is the only one sent to me by the individual. I too liked the finish which I could see by the closeup of the catch. The catch itself looks like the proper shepherds' crook found on the UM badges. I agree that better pics are needed, or better yet to have it in hand for closer examination. I know of a few of the repros which you speak of JTW with the "c" catch. I'll try to get better detailed pics from the person if available. As of now and for that P/O money, I too would have a textbook example instead. Thanks again - I'll pass along the information. ERIC
    11. I had this pic sent to me asking about authenticity. I've not seen an UM (FLL) Pilot or Pilot Observer before with such a hinge - have you?? It looks as though the rest of the badge conforms to the UM characteristics. Any opinions and or concerns on this one guys? Thanks! ERIC
    12. Here's a Flak Badge with a 'W. Deumer L?denscheid' maker mark I came across. First repro Flak I've seen with the Deumer marking. ERIC
    13. Ditto JTW! You certainly have a knack with the camera! Superb mini "40"! ERIC
    14. Here's one I found recently - close to the real thing but the eagle and mm give this one away. ERIC
