    1. Hey guys I would love to know what is written in this gents Soldbuch for my records so I could print it out and put it with my other documents. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Ive numbered the pics to make it easier for the translators to put what with what when they respond. TIA and all the best, Jon 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.
    2. I cant stand it when someone(a seller)(, I believe a vet or original owner have the right to split it up amongst family AS LONG AS IT STAYS IN THE FAMILY) splits up a grouping. I was quite happy to have saved such a grouping of Luftwaffe Wedding Photos, the seller had all 4 individually listed so I placed my bid on all of them early hoping that people would see what I was doing and sure enough no one else touched them, I was very happy to preserve the couples happy memories. I feel as if Ive rescued something, when I am able to keep a grouping together, if I cant afford all of it I dont bother and hope that someone else can keep it all together. All the best, Jon
    3. Thanks much Mr. Paul yep its an M. 40 your right! . I got this from a dealer friend, got it for $360, I think thats a deal on it. I walked in saw it and my jaw dropped and just had to have it LOL. As far as the finish goes its really hard for me to tell, at places I see what makes me think of a very subdued camo. Ive circled them here for you. All the best, Jon
    4. I know this is late but hopefully someone could help. Are the papers that come in the Walmart frames generally acidic? If the frame is bigger than the paper document I use NON acidic construction paper for backing. For my storing of militaria period, I have my blinds fully drawn and closed at all times except at night if its a cool night. All the bset, Jon
    5. Ah ok thank you much Bear!! You have a great piece of history here, its amazing it has survived this long! Do you have any special way of preserving items from such a long time ago?? And the fact their paper items also? TIA and all the best, Jon
    6. Just a quick question where was this Port Royal located?? Because we have one here in South Carolina, is this one the same as portrayed in the movies and this piece of history?? Its about 15 minutes from my house and is a little town right beside Beaufort. TIA and all the best, Jon
    7. I think so but its in German(a rarer Der Adler for that) but I'll open up the frame tonight and see if it has any more pics of them in it. It should as whats featured on the cover of the Der Adler usually has the main story inside. All the best, Jon ***Correction Im sorry I just went to look at the frame and this particular mag is in a frame with another three that I nailed shut. So I wont be able to open it...I apologize.
    8. No problem, a quality item at a good price is ALWAYS a welcome addition to any collection. All the best, Jon
    9. Only thing I have to offer atm, is a Der Adler pic of a ground combatant. All the best, Jon
    10. Its not a Brit plane, one can tell that from the way the rear tail plan is painted. Its definitely a French Bloch or Potez. All the best, Jon
    11. I believe this helm has the remnants of a camo job on it! I cant tell what year it is, Im guessing M42. TIA and all the best, Jon
    12. Sure Mr. Kevin I'll get the pics tomorrow. And you probably dont have your rucksack mounted wrong, those metal parts were made to go on Y straps hooks, but since I dont have any, I just took two of my moms old thin belts turn them around and used them to mount the rucksack, call it southern ingenuity I guess LOL. Thanks guys! All the best, Jon
    13. Got this from a gent who picked it up from an Aussie vet who nabbed it in N. Afrika! I couldnt be happier as its my first camo helm! All the best, Jon [attachmentid=54469]
