    1. This is a picture I took in Mosul at the former Airbase. As far as I know it is for training and depicts a Republican Guard soldier as well as the RG red triangle insignia. Scott. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_07_2010/post-4139-128017596777.jpg.jpg]
    2. That's a European man purse . Scott.
    3. Not as flashy as the previous weapons but I sure wish I could have kept one. We had to take these to a dump to be blown up. Now we have to rearm the Iraqi Armed Forces . Scott. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_07_2010/post-4139-128011520659.jpg.jpg]
    4. This is a picture of a younger me in Normandy 1989, for the 45th Anniversary celebration. I am with my friend Jim Gilmour and King Michael of Romania and his wife the Queen. The Jeep was given to the King by General George Patton when he was a young monarch in exile. This photo is at Pegasus Bridge. 5. Thanks for the info Lorenzo!
    6. Well, I am not sure if I have genuine regrets, but I do miss being able to collect items from Imperial Japan. From the time I was 9 years old until my early 30s I collected uniforms, headgear, equipment, and insignia from Japan in WWI-WWII. My collection included two Army Paratrooper helmets at one time, a great variety of tropical helmets, and many rare and exotic uniforms. Here is an early scan of some of my headgear, Included are the Army Para helmets. This is circa 1990, I sold out around 2000. I think that I wouldn't enjoy the items as much these days because most can be had with a lot of $$$. In the early days no one was really interested in Japanese items and they were difficult to find but generally speaking affordable. There were exceptions of course, like para items or some Navy items. I still like looking at Japanese militaria, but lately I am back to the thrill of the chase and the process of discovery with items from Iraq (and it's much more affordable.) 7. Maybe for difficulty but I really like my Desert Storm RG set much better. I am also partial to the Thunders set and the Lizard pattern. What the heck, I like them all! . Scott.
    8. You are certainly correct as to the origins of the plates Chris. The Kuwaiti and Saudi plates I obtained during the 1990-91 War in the host countries. The Dubai plates came out of Iraq in 2003. There was a vehicle leasing company called SNS or Saudi Naval Support, that brought in vehicles under contract to the U.S. Government. While using one of the civilian vehicles I noticed that the trunk was full of these Dubai plates so I helped myself to a couple for posterity. The Iraqi military plate came from a damaged vehicle and the yellow plate I was told was for Baath Party officials. I got that one from an abandoned car at the Baghdad Airport. Scott.
    9. Thanks Leigh! I would love a freebie. I would however like to at least pay for postage. Please e-mail or PM me and I will transfer details with you. Perhaps I can return the favor someday? Scott.

    24. This uniform belonged to Lt. General Abid Hamid Mahmoud Al-Tikriti. It is as I found it in his home, with the incorrect rank. Perhaps he was expecting a promotion or merely dreaming of one but this is what I found in 2003. I have had, and still do have several other items from the General. Some went by way of auction to fund my school and living expenses a few years ago. My daughter decided she needed to strike a pose for this picture Scott. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_07_2010/post-4139-12799093311.jpg.jpg]
