    1. Wild Card, Thanks again for the trivia... I had not noticed this place (the Hall of the Warrior Glory) until now.... Cheers. Ch. Bryan (Soviet), Up to you now!!!! Ch.
    2. If it is this book; Andreas is right : only the orders of cavaliers of the 3 classes are listed. Just tell us the SN of your 2nd Class and we will check. Who knows ? Maybe a dismantled group ? Even if I doubt... Cheers. Ch.
    3. Hi Wild Card, Thanks. Here is a pic of the Stalingrad one, just to compare. Cheers. Ch.

    7. This Lenin statue is the one depicted on the Soviet Medal for the 250 Years of Leningrad. Established 16 May 1957, it ha been awarded to all citizens who participated in the restoration and reconstruction of the city and maintained Leningrad citizenship for no less than five years. Awarded also were Leningrad defenders who received the medal for the Defence of Leningrad, regardless of living place. This medal stopped being issued after 1 January 1978. Approximately 1,440,000 were issued. Ch. Pic : Art Bates - www.soviet-awards.com
    8. This is the armoured car from which Lenin held his speech at the Finland Station in 1917. It used to stand in the square in front of the Marble Palace (The Lenin Museum used to be in the Palace), but the new authorities took it away from there and put up their own symbol, a statue of Alexander III. It is now in the Military Historical Museum of the Artillery. Ch. Pic : Peter Sobolev - www.enlight.ru
    9. Here is the square before they build the new station in the 70's. Ch.
    10. Great!!! Wild Card, Congratulations!! You got it!!! You're correct. This Lenin statue is from the square outside the Finland Station in Leningrad (St Petersburg). The square is still called today Square Lenina. It is the place where Lenin arrived in 1917, after 17 years of exile abroad. Here, in the square where the statue stands today, he delivered his legendary speech from the top of an armoured car. The actual square is now in full refurbishment and the Municipality plans a nice garden, here. I have taken this photo in last July, when the work was in process. Ch.
    11. Hi Wild Card, Very good try. You're right, it is not the one outside the House of Soviet. And it is not the one in Smolny. Just a clue : it is not far from Smolny... To all, a last try ? Cheers. Ch.
    12. Ed, Very interesting, this remark about the green "leaves" : I did not know this. Cheers. Ch.
    13. If you're interested, this one is for sale (not by me), with its yellow counterpart. "Wound stripe for a light wound (red), 1940s, excellent unissued condition. About 12mm wide by 70mm long." Hope this helps. Ch. Pic : Collectrussia.
    14. Jens, Here is a drawing of them as depicted in the Soviet 1989 Uniforms Regulation Book. Ch. Pic : Alexei Merezhko.
    15. I think Ed Haynes could help on this one. Ed, any idea ? Cheers. Ch.
    16. I have read that there was a 1st version of this order, that had golden words on the branchs of the star, as one of yours. But is it not said if the wreath appeared only with the 2nd type... Ch.
    17. The pic seems to show the reverse. Am I correct ? If yes, may we see the front ? It looks like the Order of Ouissam Alaouite (1913), but there is no green wreath around the star... Cheers. Ch.
