    1. I'll try to know more about this visit... Cheers. Ch.
    2. I know, I know.... Thanks, and bravo for your estimate (type of order + date). Cheers. Ch.
    3. Jan, Excellent!!!! I believe it is an Order of Polar Star, SN 23262, awarded on 17 June 1982. It should be, according to the classification a : (A 33.3/M 12.4) -- Type 4.1 (Pinback, silver); Low = 15074, High = 30409; 1970-2003 Am I right? Could you confirm? And, what's the meaning of the n? 147, in the far right column of the doc ? Now, just have to try to put hand on this Order, as I have only the doc... I know, it will be along shot... Thanks to all for your help. Cheers. Ch. Pic : ? Christophe ? ChR Collection
    4. Please, don't forget the main aim of the place is remembrance, and not phaleristics ... The place and this "monument" are just symbols, for everyone to remember about the men and women who fought or were in these wars and peacekeeping operations. I just find it quite "striking" and aesthetic. Don't underestimate the effect such a display can have on youngest generations. Cheers. Ch.
    5. Nice!! Are they all 3rd Class ? Could you post their SN ? Any doc with them ? Cheers. Ch.
    6. These are not "originals", or awarded medals, but mint ones. Called "replicas" for the oldest ones ? Cheers. Ch.
    7. Jim, I understand that the first figures I have posted relate to WW1 only. The total, as displayed on the Wall, should include more recent operations (WW2, peace-keeping operations...). There are recent medals included. That's how I understand those figures... but maybe am I wrong. Cheers. Ch.
    8. The Changi flag. Displayed in the Crypt. Ch. Pic : ? Christophe ? ChR Collection
    9. The Crypt. The Crypt is below the Sanctuary and measures nine metres square. It contains the Sovereign and Regimental colours and a series of bronze panels recording the army and navy units that took part in World War 1 and the names of Royal Australian Navy ships lost in the war. In the centre of the Crypt is a bronze statue of a father and son. The sculpture honours the courage and service of two succeeding generations of Victorians. Ch. Pic : ? Christophe ? ChR Collection
    10. This wall contains 4,000 service medals. Each represents 100 Victorians who have served Australia in war or peacekeeping, and six who have died. This is what is written at the entrance of Melbourne's Shrine of Remembrance. The Shrine was built between July 1928 and November 1934 in remembrance of those 114,000 men and women of Victoria who served and those who died in the Great War of 1914-1918. 89,100 of them served overseas and 19,000 did not return. 11. Thanks Bob. Here is the weblink of the Museum, for those interested : http://www.defence.gov.au/RAAF/raafmuseum/ Cheers. Ch.
    12. That's for sure a very nice and beautiful order. Cheers. Ch.
    13. I believe the list has already been posted here, a while ago (one year ago)... http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=7874&hl= Alexandre, did you progress by yourself in your researches ? Cheers. Ch.
