    1. I believe the 4th from the right is what we call a "fish wacker" used by fishermen NOT police (although it could probably do the job just as well :-) The bottom one was one my Dad took away from a US Army prisoner while we were stationed in France. A neat story.
    2. Mervyn, I had some problem trying to sign in a couple of weeks ago. I was getting a message saying the site didn't recognize my name or password (the same one I have been using since I joined. I tried to send you a regular e-mail but got no response. I tried again tonight and decided to go for a "password change". I obviously was successful and here I am again :-) Things are going well with the family. I'm adding another pic of some more of my collection. ' alt='' class='ipsImage' >
    3. I have NO clue what the site says but thought it might be of some help. http://auction.catawiki.com/kavels/1543479-wehrmacht-sanit-ter-arzt-schilderij-olie-op-hardboard-1939-wo2
    4. REF #6: Hey Rick, Sorry for the delayed response. No, they are not in any order. I thought about it (for maybe a second or two ) then figured I'd just add them as I got them. Most come from my son for Christmas, birthday, anniversary. I don't know where this kid gets them as we only have a couple of antique stores in the area. I suspect he found a treasure load sometime ago while he and his sister were on a vacation and just bought a load, then farm them out to me. That's OK, I enjoy them whenever As far as a specialty, I don't. I use the book in REF #1 when I get any. I am hoping to start focusing on Military Police units, but won't pass up others a well. I don't buy or sell, just trade. (If you have any, let me know and we may be able to work out some trades. Happy New Year :-)
    5. Here's my latest sets. On the left are those WITH their pins intact; On the right; pins were taken off so they could be displayed in a scrapbook I received six more from my son at Christmas and will have to get another large display case to start the pin-backs again.
    6. Thanks gents for your time and comments. Ed
    7. REF #2: Mervyn, The whistle does not have a number. all it has is "The Metropolitan" across the top and "Made in England" at the bottom.. Ed
    8. I have about 100 US Army DUI's (Distinctive Unit Insignias). QUESTION 1: I have many that are duplicates. Realizing they were worn on both shoulders, is there more value having both verses just one? QUESTION 2: Unfortunately many of the posts on the back have been broken off so the DUIs could be displayed in a book. Obviously, value is lost on these. Realizing that "value is in the eye of the beholder", is there a market for these, either as traders or selling them?
    9. Ya just gotta wonder sometimes

      Patch ID please

What was the purpose of this patch? Was it for French who joined the US army? This uniform has all US insignia and ribbon bar and one overseas bar. No other patch on the other shoulder
    13. I don't know but hope you will SERIOUSLY consider removing it! Thanks
    14. This is a set of buttons from my Dad's uniform (he retired in the late 70').
    15. His West Point patch signifies a staff position (probably instructor). References indicate that to be accepted an applicant must be at least an O-3 (Captain) and not eligible for O-4 (Major) at the time of selection.
