Thank you, for this nice observer. I see yours is still on cloth, then he looks immediately even better of course. Well, at least mine was not expensive. Even if I find a pity that, nevertheless, he is not original, but as I had already said, never was sure to me and an original observer, up to now I had not seen yet.

Luftwaffe Flak badge ? GWL
woodeye replied to J Temple-West's topic in Wehrmacht Medals, Decorations & Awards
very nice pieces, i have only a unmarked without HK -
Also the back looks good, only unfortunately, under UV light there shine all white threads. Nevertheless, I like it very well. What do you mean? Here in Germany it is an everlasting Diskusion lightning with the UV lamp. I have bought the badge already 10 years ago from a collector for 20 DM, who had not liked it at that time because of UV luminous.

Forgiveness, but I am from nature very carefully and question first everything, perhaps not always is the best kind. But I must feel fine also with my pieces. Nevertheless, I suppose both pieces come from the same workshop, even if one unterfeeds seems to be. What should not be called that they are not an original. The old top collectors have got even earlier the best pieces, although also even today now and again what appears. Thanks for the backside !

steve k i mean fibrous cheesecloth. sorry for my bad english I believe yours third abzeichen looks also quite good. Even if it is unusual a little bit what concerns the front, but, nevertheless, the back looks, actually, quite good. Does it feel old? Has looked sometimes in old pictures, however, I could not discover your variation. But perhaps another collector has a picture with this variation ? By the way, I must improve, the base passes with mine both of three positions felt material and not from only two positions. Eric: Your badges are all very rare variations and I have never seen pictures on those them were carried, therefore I would be very careful. Although there has been supposedly the sail pilot badge in material. If I exactly do not know from which spring it comes I would strongly doubt their genuineness. The badges 3 and 4 are from the same design and for me fakes. Because they are really ugly, acts to me suffer for the choice of words. If you have them from a reduction, then OK. Your jumper could be OK, but one should also be able to see the back. If you time have poste, nevertheless, sometimes the backs of your other badges

thanks, i think both looking good, is the second version a underlay version ? Can you look between the Paper and the cloth ? In my underlays is: felting, netcloth, a piece felting, second piece felting and than the last netcloth. Has the underlay version at the back paper ? If i could choose i would choose the second one. He seems to be worn. The first one look to new, the Pilots buy the clothversion to wear and to save theier metal badges. Is it right no time it was stichted ? What do you feel ? If you had in the hand ?

Luftwaffe Cloth Para Badge Help
woodeye replied to ERIC's topic in Wehrmacht Medals, Decorations & Awards
that?s right. please show in my topic http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=26417 there are some cloth badges of my collection, and you see how narrowly the thread was sewed. This is 1 opinion, the other is the back. A piece of material either had stuck behind the most badges or with the thread had sewn, like the national emblem. But not all, perhaps only 70-80% have a piece of material. The copiers also sometimes used a very thin material that are then, however, rather bad copies. The most important point is that seals to the embroidery. Sorry for my bad english.... -

the Originals, Yes, they are more rear. If you loke on Photos often you can see the metal badges, but not so often you see the cloth badge. But it is more difficult to make a distinction between original and fake. But show us your cloth badges
