    1. You mean the cases for the MVO? I have some Schiebe-Etuis for the MVK which are brown as well.
    2. Yup, I noticed that a bunch of this crap is being offered again. Here is an example of a very good copy by Blass. It had me fooled for some years.
    3. There are several possibilities for the last ribbon. And the official Bavarian Agricultural Merit Medal awarded during the war looks completely different from this medal.
    4. Great photos, obviously he saw some action with the Turks as a naval aviator. Maybe Alex knows this guy.
    5. OK, it could be a period Spangenstueck or a genuine 4th class which has been pimped up, but it certainly is not an award piece.
    6. Thanks Graham, are those swords two-piece hollow construction or solid? So far I'm not getting a good feeling about this piece.
    7. These are a brutal minefield of fakery. Can you post an image of the barrel from the side?
    8. AFAIK most of these swords pieces were solid body and silver-gilt. Mine is marked 938 on the edge of the 6 o'clock arm and again on the suspension loop. I do believe that some early awards were 'upgraded' non-swords pieces with swords added later, so these would be hollow body and real gold. I wish the PLM was Godet, it's actually a single-sided example from Meybauer.
    9. Graham, any markings on this one? Are the swords screwed into the cross body? I have a Wagner example which looks like it was run over by a tank at some point.
    10. I tracked Rauwolf down many years ago, and he wasn't too interested in discussing details of his escapade over England. He was a sculptor like my father.
    11. I'll defer to the EK specialists, but my guess is this one dates more to the first conflict.
    12. I really like the look of this cross, nice piece.
    13. It's a Weimar award for vets from Oldenburg, and fairly scarce. I have one which I'll have to dig out for comparison.
    14. Hi Chuck, It was against statutes to mount two Hindys on the same bar. This could have been either a parent who lost a son or a surviving brother.
