    1. Hey guys, well... here is a small question........ He attained the rank of Major General in 1918 (the date of the tunic).... and the shoulder boards I have are also Major General (perhaps the family kept the Lt. General boards).... So... the question/speculation is...... Which grades of these orders would he have had in 1918-1920 (i.e. I don't think he got the GC of the Dannebrog until he was promoted to Lt. General).... What are your thoughts ?? Cheers Mark
    2. Hi guys, I had posted this on another thread.. and was asked to post it here to answer some questions... Here is the military version.. in solid gold.... the sword blades are silver plated to add contrast. Cheers Mark

    4. Hi Mike, No rush.... just whenever you can get to it ..... I've been collecting general's uniforms (all countries) for a long time.. and a friend in Europe always seems to come across the odd ones.. and I had been looking for a Danish one... soooo when he called..... I picked it up. Now.. I just need to complete it (belt, hat and orders). Cheers Mark
    5. Mike, Now.... my next big question..... Does anyone have contacts where I can find a belt, bi-corne cap and the orders I need to complete his display ? Any suggestions ?? Cheers Mark

    18. Hello all, A friend of mine is researching Robert of Wurttemburg and Friederick the 2nd and is needing pictures of them, preferably as Robert as a general in the 9th Uhlans, and Friederick the 2nd as a general in the 1st Guard Uhlans of 1911-1914. Any pictures would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Mark
    19. Hello Robert, I would love to find out what the medals/orders are that he is wearing... because it is the same configuration of a general's uniform that I have... Any chance that you can e-mail me larger pictures of the first two pictures ? Cheers Mark
    20. Heiko, First I would like to say that I think this really sucks.... and I hope that those responsible are caught. Though here in the US they would only get a slap on the wrist and released ... not sure about the laws in Germany. I would also suggest that you notify all of the big dealers and auctionhouses (i.e. weitze, thies etc) and let them know ... in the even that some tries to move them fast.... The more eyes that are looking.... the more territory that can be covered. Cheers Mark
    21. I'm with Ed on this one... I prefer the pre 1914 bars over any others.... 1870 IC with Oaks, 1870 with bars and Centenial medal then throw in a long service and a few other bits and bobs..... Wee Haa !!! Cheers Mark
    22. Hey Stuart, All of my info either came from the British archives, who's who or other misc research material that I have. There is also an on-line London Gazzet search for Mentioned in dispatch. I'm embarassed as I have not updated my site in almost 3 years..... But I have posted a few pics of the new war room in this section under 'collection overview' if you want to see the thread. Due to space limitations.. I'm only concentrating on parade uniforms now and have moved all the field wear stuff (I like the bright and shiney ).... I really admire your helmets.... and I have always liked the Victorian stuff... !!! Cheers Mark
