    1. You are most welcome, Jim! Please feel free to drop me a line in PM if you need any further help with translation from Russian.
    2. Two letter abbreviation "im" stands for "imeni" (named after), i.e. Kiev high school named after M.V.Frunze. I'm nearly 100% sure that the plaque was initially glued to the cover of the binder that housed birthday congratulations from the recipient's colleagues.
    3. In fact this photo was a part of the grouping of four photos sold on E-Bay but unfortunately I managed to buy only that one, three have gone to another collector... I will post here a fragment of another photo (low resolution, directly from seller's page), maybe it could help in identifying an officer.
    4. The photo itself depicting a field service with named participants. The photo was taken in Belgium.
    5. Fragment of a group photo with a mysterious officer. Any ideas who could it be and what award he wears?
    6. Thanks for clarification, Uwe! Anyway I never doubted there were only 2 classes of the S.Adler - I just wrote that "8 variants of that badge" existed being based on "two basic grades, 1st and 2nd class".
    7. Sergio, thanks for your post! Any more ideas regarding that medal? Does everyone agree with Sergio?
    8. Kevin, you are wrong. Moreover there were 8 variants of that badge - various additions to the two basic grades, 1st and 2nd class, namely II. Stufe II. Stufe mit Eichenlaub II. Stufe mit Schwertern II. Stufe mit Eichenlaub und Schwertern I. Stufe I. Stufe mit Eichenlaub I. Stufe mit Schwertern I. Stufe mit Eichenlaub und Schwertern. The difference between 1st and 2nd classes of the Schlesischer Adler can be clearly seen on the photo I posted here:)
    9. Thanks for reply, Sergio! Ribbon seems a bit different from the Friedrich-August Medal
    10. Question No.2 regarding one medal that I'm still unable to identify. Awards: 1. EK-I 2. Schlesisches Bewährungsabzeichen 1.Klasse ohne Schwertern Medal bar: 1. EK-II 2. Bayern. Militär-Verdienstkreuz 2.Klasse mit der Krone und Schwertern 3. ??? 4. Preussen. Verdienstkreuz für Kriegshilfsdienst 5. Schlesisches Bewährungsabzeichen 1.Klasse ohne Schwertern Thanks in advance!
    11. Close-up. I assume this vet wears the following awards: 1. Die Verdienstmedaille in Silber (?) 2. Silberne Medaille "Fuer Treue in der Arbeit" or Medaille fuer Lebensrettung (?) 3. Kriegsdenkmuenze 1870/71 fuer Kombattanten with 4 battle clasps 4. Zentenarmedaille 5. Certain miniature (?) Please have a closer look and let me know what are the two first medals to complete identification!
    12. Please help to identify two awards worn by this Saxon veteran of the 1870/71 war. Thanks in advance!
    13. Thanks for your comment! Could you please give the name of that commemorative wedding medal and if possible a link to read about it?
    14. Thanks a lot for an answer! I thought it should be a Bavarian medal but failed to find similar one:)
    15. Portrait of a Bavarian WW1 veteran from Augsburg. Medal bar: 1. Bayern. Militaer-Verdienstkreuz 3.Klasse mit Schwertern und Krone 2. Preussen. EK-II 3. Bayern. Dienstauszeichnung 3.Klasse 4. ??? + EK-I Please help to identify the fourth medal! Thanks in advance!
    16. Awards: 1. ??? 2. Die Kyffhäuser- Kriegsgedenkmünze des Kyffhäuserbundes e.V. 3. Das Ehren- und Erinnerungskreuz des Marinekorps Flandern (Flandernkreuz) with unidentifiable battle clasp. 4. Deutsche Ehrendenkmünze des Weltkrieges der Deutschen Ehrenlegion with frontline soldier's combat emblem.
    17. Yes, you are absolutely right. It seems to be a different badge, I failed to identify it and the image attached is just the closest to the original badge
    18. Thanks for your replies, Lambert and Christophe! I've got an opinion that an oval breast badge is a certain unofficial regimental commemorative badge. Unfortunately no idea of its name... Your opinion, gentlemen?
