    1. Lovely medal I still need to wait a little bit before I'm as lucky with my collection as you are with yours.
    2. Hard to find information about that Norwegian guy. Perhaps you know this already, but please see http://jpgleize.club.fr/aces/ww2nor.htm or http://www.cieldegloire.com/002n_grundt.php He was awarded the War cross with sword in 1945. He got the 212th cross out of 274 awarded, plus a DFC & Bar it seems. I can look into the War Cross case, if you would like.
    3. From Portugal, you say? Do you know the name of the order?
    4. Looks like you're right. Thank you, Hendrik!
    5. Thank you for your help, you are right. Number 4 is the Order of white star from Estonia: http://www.medalj.nu/ribbon_info.asp?build...C-E71C200277A6} And number 5 is the Order of merit from Hungary: http://www.medalj.nu/ribbon_info.asp?build...6-F486DDBF394A} Only the last two left...
    6. Do you have any comments to this one? Yes, it's a copy. Not the best either I think, judging from the ribbon. But I think it's a good spacefiller.
    7. I'm not sure where to put this thread, but I'll try here. I have this picture of a Norwegian miniature group. The three first awards are Norwegian: order of St. Olav, knight 1st class, king Olav Vs 100 years medal and the medal for service as conscript in the navy. But the four last orders are unknown to me. Are they known to you, gentlemen?
    8. May I post you pictures on a Norwegian forum? I will come back with any information that would turn up.
    9. So far I'm only working on getting the medals. I'm missing 1902 and 1977. Should I also look for the medal rolls?
    10. I'm collecting the British coronation and jubilee medals post 1900, and this is one of the few medals I'm still missing. But I'm not quite sure about this one... What do you think about it, could it be a fake?
    11. Thank you, Chris. This morning I found another Norwegian source stating he was squadron leader when he got the medal, so it might be the latter person you mentioned. But I find it odd that LG don't say anything about him getting a medal for bravery.
    12. All right, this might be a very optimistic long shot. But I'll give it a try? I'm working on a list of all the awards of the Norwegian medal Armed Forces' Medal for Bravery. I've found a short article about a guy named Ian McDonald-Webb (possible McDonald Webb) serving at ?rland Hovedflystasjon outside Trondheim in Norway. One day he was flying a F-16 and a fire started in his plane. Without getting panic, he managed to land the plane safely, despite the fact his engine was hardly working. I think this was in 1997. The article states he was awarded the medal, but I cannot find any other source to back it up. Have any of you ever heard about this?
    13. Thank you for all your answers. The UN medal is most likely UNTSO (Palestine, Egypt, Suez Canal, UNIFIL and around that area). What would such a group be worth?
    14. I'm thinking about buying this group, but I'm not quite sure... None of the medals are named. Seller says they came like this with a uniform that he bought. What do you think, could this be a made up piece? Is it likely that one person would get both medals for war against terror?
    15. It turns out I'm a horrible gluer... But the good news is that the seller was paid the insurance sum, and he has now handed it over to me. Shipping cost Japan - Norway and the registererd value of the box were paid by the Japanese post service. So this whole thing ended pretty well after all.
    16. I have this photo of a nice Norwegian group belonging to Sverre Erlandsen. From left to right: 1. Participation medal (Norway) 2. Home guard merit medal (Norway) 3. Army conscript service medal with three stars (Norway) 4. ... 5. Military good shoting medal with rosette (Norway) 6. ... I cannot ID medal 4 and 6. I know Erlandsen was awarded a Danish Home guard merit medal, maybe the "Hjemmev?rnets Fortjensttegn". Could this be number 4? But what about number 6? I think it looks Danish too. Looks like there is some kind of head appearing on number 6, facing right. I'm very sorry for the blurry picture. But does anyone have any thoughts about this?
    17. My medal is named to a Mr. John Coble. It could of course have been done privately, I would not know.
    18. Thank you Arthur R and Firemedals. I assume my medal has the reverse of the Ambulance Service of the UK?
