    1. New first name: The Lt dR Vogt from IR 159 is Rudolf Vogt. Born 28.11.1894 in Blankenstein, acc. to VL. Halversche Zeitung, 28.6.1918
    2. And indeed, a few days later, several further recipients from the Hagen region were posted: Hermann Kracht - we had him already. Paul Noelle/Nölle - new first name, from 1. GzF. Erich Schmolinski - we had him, went into RAD. August Tempelmann - new first name. Hagener Zeitung, 12.7.1934 One of the Wolffs, Regierungsrat aD Paul Wolff, died 1945. Hagener Zeitung, 3.3.1945
    3. No new info here, but it looks like in the 1930s, people seemed to regionally collect names of HHOX recipients (we had an example here earlier from Halle). Those lists would have been interesting - from Hagen only one is named here, Rektor Franz Wurm (we have him already). Hagener Zeitung, 29.6.1934 New first name: OTL aD Otto Schmitz, died 1926. Hagener Zeitung, 2.8.1926
    4. Notice for Lt Eusterbrock, who was from Wiedenbrück. His first name should be Theodor, according to VL. According to genealogical sources, he lived 1894-1986. Was Lehrer in Burgsteinfurt. Gütersloher Zeitung, 16.5.1918
    5. If it was in the Sächsische Staatszeitung, I would say he must be included unless we have absolute proof that he did not get it. Same with a notice from the Offizier-Verein. All sorts of weird things happened in the final stages of the war (and afterward), procedures were not always followed.
    6. One of the Schultz', Hptm and Regierungsrat Dr. Hermann Schultz from Essen: Essener Zeitung, 29.9.1916
    7. I wonder if this is a new one - or just a Princely one: Lt Paul Triep, died 1929. Dorstener Wochenblatt, 4.6.1929
    8. More about Professor Johann Raestrup, HdR, born 1878 in Stromberg: Die Glocke, 8.9.1934 Might be a new first name: Hptm dR Friedrich Bitterberg was KIA in 1940 Die Glocke, April 1940
    9. Do we have him yet? Lt dR Walter Wolff. Or is this a Princely one? Altenaer Kreisblatt, 10.2.1917
    10. Ok, digitization of the Hannoverscher Kurier has advanced to 1917. Not much new info so far, but here are some cases we already have, as a start: Hptm Günther Tidow was from Hannover, had the Hessen as well: 7.12.1917 Walther Wriede from Lüneburg, born 1894 (Matty had him already), KIA 1918: 2.12.1917
    11. Hello, asking the community: Does anyone have a picture of GenMaj Ernst von Zimmermann (1860-1942)? He was cdr of 402. InfBrigade in 1918.
    12. I have had this bar for many years, but only now found out what the last ribbon is: It is not, as Rick thought long ago, a regimental medal. It is the Dutch 1901 Wedding Medal (Huwelijksmedaille, https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huwelijksmedaille_1901) for the Wedding of Queen Wilhelmina and Prince Hendrik of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Besser, then OTL, must have been a guest at the wedding, which makes additional sense since he had a connection to Mecklenburg and several of their awards.
    13. Lt dR Deschang from FR 34 is Emil Deschang, born 18.11.1891 in Rixheim/Mülhausen, Alsace. He also has a file in the Karlsruhe archives: http://www.landesarchiv-bw.de/plink/?f=4-1318145 Hptm dR Dahse from FAR 241 should be the 1914 Lt dR in FAR 41, from Bezirk Rostock, but I don't find his first name.
    14. The Hptm Stoermer, who received the HHOX around May/ early June 1918, is either the 1914 Olt from FußAR 1, Maj aD, or the 1914 Lt from FußAR 20, Hptm aD. Maybe it can be determined from their promotions who would fit.
    15. Ah, now I find him: Acc. to VL and myheritage, born 12.9.1879 in Münster, died 7.4.1954 in Berlin. In IR 159 at the end of WW1. In civil life Reichsbankrat.
