    1. Ah yes, correct observation. I now distinguish between BT5 and BT4, the book says "Bulgar. Tapferk. Medaille" and "Bulgar. Tapferk. Orden", respectively. Probably BT4b. Not sure about TM, maybe.
    2. After another member recently discovered a copy of a book on Crew 1906, I have found the book of Crew 1914, published in Hamburg in 1926. It is very interesting: it has one page for each crew member, with picture and extensive biographical information, like father's occupation and so on, but most interesting - a complete listing of all awards, including foreign, and even Freikorps. I will post some scans soon. But first, I have collected the awards here. This list refers to the 1918 Navy ranklist, Leutnants zur See, p. 73ff. Crew 1914 starts with Seiwert. Given here are all awards that are not listed in the 1918 ranklist (I leave out Fliegerabz., U-Bootabz., Wound Badges). All names not listed did not get anything additional: p. 73: Löhner EK1, HH Stark, Hans EK1 Cramer, Hugo EK1 Wesemann BremH Schönberg TH Starke, Rudolf MMV, BT5 Meendsen-Bohlken EK1 Etzdorf, Hans EK1, BT4 (KIA 1918) Langen EK1, HH p. 74: Stolzmann, Walter EK1 Wolffhügel BMVO4 (KIA 1918) Hencke EK1, BMVO4 v. 3. Seems to be a very old Stabszahlmeister dR. I think the bar is 1) EK2 2) KVK2 3) HT? or SH medal? 4) Schwarzburg? or either Altenburg or Schaumburg with incorrect swords? 5) SA3X or Cross 6) SEKX 7) BMVKX 8) Hindenburg 9) Treudienst 10) Hungarian Commem.X
    4. Outstanding research... but that's business as usual here, isn't it? Hermann von Pfistermeister was director of the Heinkel-Werke in 1938.
    5. Dr. Emil Kost got a Dr. phil. from the University of T?bingen on 18.12.1922. He went on to publish extensively about local history and archaeology.
    6. Not zS, yes. Thanks for the pics! So these are definitely two golden eagles. And judging from the back, neither of them looks like it's been exchanged.
    7. Picture is bad, but this is the ribbon bar that was sold, too. Here again, outfitter has used the Saxon DA ribbon. Strangely enough, the ribbon bar seems to have two golden eagles (25+ years), while the medal has silver+gold for 12-17 years. Not sure what to make of this, because he can't really have updated the DAs this way, skipping the silver+silver class.
    8. Here's another Messina medal and ribbon bar lot that has been sold recently. I thought it would be a good idea to keep a record of all Messina bars that surface:
    9. Yes, but that is only the one published after the war, Stabsoffiziere up.
    10. Very nice, that one, too. But these are all unpublished or at least not widely available, I think.
    11. And I didn't know about that 1937 list either. A lot of interesting material - worth scanning, I think. Some library catalogs also list a "Dienstaltersliste S", but it has only 112 pages, so I suppose that is only from Majors up, and those are already in the published 1944 list.
    12. Exactly, they are not indexed, which doesn't really help. I did not know the volume from Hauptleute down has been published, at least I've never seen it.
    13. Yes, that's what makes this list much more exhaustive than the standard Navy RL. It has dates for all awards to Beamten including paymasters, Baur?te and so on down to strange folks like "Oberwerftverwaltungssekret?re".
    14. The list does not contain the additions that are listed in the published one, like post May 1944 promotions. Also, there are no other first names than those listed in the published one. For some reason, first names are shown for all Leutnants, Oberleutnants and Hauptleute up to some point.
    15. Yes, I've got it in my paws. Well, on loan from a library at least.
    16. There is a published list from 1944 of WH officers from Major up. But I'm not sure - is this a generally known list: The Dienstaltersliste T ("Truppenoffiziere" aka combat officers) of ALL officers from Leutnant up (as of May 1944)?
    17. I thought this might be of interest to those into ecclesiastical research. These are the pages of the Beamten Rank List of the Imperial Navy 1914 listing the Pfarrer and Oberpfarrer with awards and award dates:
