    1. My newest acquisition for my Vietnam participants display. A ROK Vietnam Service medal. Been looking for one for ages.
    2. Thanks, JB. As for finding a cleaner one, although I have come across several fakes, this is the first real one I've ever seen on evilBay. So I'll deal with a bit of grime. Thanks again, NIck.
    3. This is presently listed on Ebay. Is this the real deal or is it a reincarnated Budweiser can? Please advise, since if it's real I'd like to pick it up, and there're only three days left on the auction. Thanks. Nick.
    4. Thanks for the word Japan. One has to wonder why, in a society that gives decorations to old ladies who clean out the toilets in the Moscow subway system, that the USSR never came up with something of their own for their Vietnam vets.
    5. I know that this is comparing apples to oranges, but in the grand scheme of things, would this award be comparable to an Iron Cross 1st. Class?
    6. Is this real, or is this something that someone cranked out in a shed in Odes'ka?
    7. Nobody knows when this was made? Or by who?
    8. My newest acquisitions. Any comments? Does anyone know what the significance is for the little horizontal rectangle in the 12 o'clock position? Thanks.
    9. Does anyone have a picture of the Order of Malta " Erinnerungsmedaille"? It is my understanding that it was awarded to people dispatched by the Order to provide medical help in Vietnam during the War.
    10. And thanks a bunch to both of you for your help.
    11. Doesn't anyone know or is it a secret?
    12. What would the People's Republic have awarded to its soldiers who served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War?
    13. Does anyone have a photo of the Vietnamese medal "For Duty International"? It is my understanding that these were awarded for service in Cambodia in the late 70's-early 80.
    14. Thank you, gentlemen, very much. I certainly appreciate the education that I received on this medal. Best Wishes, NGL.
    15. Does anyone have a clue what this is? It has an anchor on the medallion, but I don't think it has anything to do with the navy or military. It has a bar on top that has "CH&P" on it, but I can't find a US railroad with those initials. It has a Latin script and crossed keys on it, but I don't think it has anything to do with religion either. The reverse is blank, and there are no hallmarks to be found anywhere. It's gross weight is just over 46 grams, and the medallion is about 53mm in diameter. It's silver gilt, and I believe the metal it's made from is either brass or tombek. If anyone has a clue what this is, I'd certainly like to know. Thank you for your help concerning this matter.
    16. You're point's taken: No doubt it would spawn some debate, and it would be spawned by people who are totally ignorant of the topic.
    17. That's my point. The US should have strict laws dealing with people who wear awards that they don't deserve.
    18. I was unaware of the penalties angle to this but it does shed some light on the matter. It's too bad that the US doesn't follow similar policies for people who strut around wearing more medals than the president of Paraguay. Thanks for the info. NGL
    19. Could someone please clue me in on why the Korean medal for Participation in the Vietnam War is so damn hard to find? One would think that one was dealing with a Faberge egg instead of a campaign medal. Considering the relatively large number of ROK's that served in Vietnam, one would think that they'd be a bit easier to come by than they are.
    20. That is pretty much what I thought, but I have been wrong before, so I thought I'd ask the Pros from Dover. Thanks for the information, Gunner, and have a good one. Nick.
    21. I have a question on US Protocol regarding the European-African-Mideast Medal. If someone sat out the war in the London freightyards, would he be entitled to a campaign star on his award? Thanks for any info on this. NGL
    22. My knowledge of Victory Medals is pretty thin. Could someone please tell me what the proper protocol was for the wearing of multiple battle devices on US Victory Medals? Thanks.
