    1. Nice additions Odulf. I especially like the ones with Ypern and Reims chalked on the shells and gun.
    2. Peter, were there segregated black Canadian units on D-Day or were they integrated?
    3. Yep, Naumburg, I knew that... Still had FAR 19 on the brain when I typed "Erfurt"
    4. Russian Expeditionary Force in France... Very nice.
    5. Here's a "big" number... Reserve Feld-Artillerie-Regiment Nr.239
    6. We all focus on the picture post cards because they offer interesting photos... But there are many simple Feldpost cards out there too... This one from the Feld-Artillerie-Regiment Nr.115 and extolling the glory of the Kaiser.
    7. Artillerie in Nahkampf (FAR 115 stempel on reverse)
    8. Loading the panzer on a ship is interesting...
    9. Here's a nice close up of the breech and sights for the 10.5 cm Feldhaubitze 98/09 (10.5 cm FH 98/09). It's also interesting because it has the unit markings... Geschutz 3, 6. (Fahrende) Batterie, Feld-Artillerie-Regiment Nr.94. The chalk markings at the top of the shield I believe are azimuth and range data for a planned or priority target... (probably a bunch of infantrymen).
    10. Thanks, dante. A lot is "readable"... I just have no clue what it means... I've seen unit and gun numbers chalked on the guns, but first time seeing something that clearly on a caisson.
    11. Definitely the wine... I clearly see the "MG" not 16 But now that you mention it, I could use some wine...
    12. Here are three Sachsen artillery NCOs. The center sergeant is from FAR 68 (a Sachsen regiment) and has two ribbons on his bar; I propose Friedrich August Medaille and EK2 (And of course, a black Verwundetenabzeichen) The sergeant on the right is from FAR 77 (another Sachsen regiment) and has three ribbons on his bar. I propose the first two are Sachsen, one probably the Friedrich August Medaille, the other I do not know. The third would be an EK2 with ribbon bar device. (And of course, a black Verwundetenabzeichen) The obergefreiter - can't determine his regiment - on the left has what appears to be only one ribbon; could be either Friedrich August Medaille or EK2. The photo was taken around 1921and they are brothers; their names are on the reverse. Any help with identifying the ribbons more precisely is appreciated...
    13. A battery of 7.7 cm Feldkanone 16 (7.7 cm FK 16) Card has the feldpost stempel of 2. Großherzoglich Hessisches Feldartillerie-Regiment Nr.61
    14. Nice EK with the clipping... Seeds for more research.
    15. This is a common, often-seen, generic post card of a German field artillery battery moving forward...this is one of the most common artillery post cards I see; probably distributed across the entire Army. This one has the feldpost stempels of "Leichte Munitions Kolonne Feld-Artillerie Regiment Nr. 61" and the "25. Inf. Div."
    16. Andy, without your questioning the shoulder straps, I would have continued calling these guys FAR 19! Only name I can hit you with is..."helpful"! I have a lot to learn about "my" artillery guys... Thanks for the great back and forth.
    17. Again, not specifically the regiment's Kaserne, but this photo of the regiment on the bridge in Minden is kinda cool... Mindensches Feld-Artillerie-Regiment Nr.58
    18. Well, never say "never". According to the chart on Kaiser's Bunker; "Nr. 19 wore a green Waffenrock with Ponceau red collar and Sachsen (Saxon) cuffs with "squared" green straps w/ red piping w/ exploding bomb w/ red 19" I always thought Tony's Kaiser's Bunker site was a reliable source... http://www.kaisersbunker.com/gtp/New/af0.htm
    19. We've mentioned drillich a couple times, here's a really good photo of a recruit crew in drillich with their 7.7 cm Feldkanone 96 neuer Art (7.7 cm FK 96 n.A.). A good look at their Unteroffizier taking notes... Kanonier in the middle is using a fuze wrench. Mindensches Feld-Artillerie-Regiment Nr.58
    20. This one isn't explicit on the Kaserne, but since it's the Vereidigung (oath) for recruits of FAR 55, I presume it's their Kaserne in Erfurt. Nonetheless, an interesting photo...
