Soviet A Gem of a Red Banner
HuliganRS replied to Stogieman's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
If he had a re-issue, the original would be taken back. Rusty. -
Soviet A Gem of a Red Banner
HuliganRS replied to Stogieman's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Gerd, No. there was no re-issue Red Banner. The awardee simply wore the screwback under the first ribbon. Rusty. -
Soviet A Gem of a Red Banner
HuliganRS replied to Stogieman's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
That screwplate is the correct one for that award. The fiber disk was a buffer so the awardee would not get poked. Rusty. -
Soviet Order of Glory Medals
HuliganRS replied to a topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
A friend and I bough a small stash from Dave... I have about 25 of them. I'm actually going to sell all of my doubles of Glory 3's, OGPW2's, Red Banner and RedBanner of Labor... Rusty. -

Soviet A Red Banner for consideration
HuliganRS replied to Stogieman's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
The S/N does look too big and a bit stylized... -
Soviet A Red Banner for consideration

Rick, The plow toches the stick. This is not uncommon. Is it possible to get a nice scan of the area around the S/N ? Thanks! Rusty. -
Soviet Strange Order of the Red Banner?
HuliganRS replied to order_of_victory's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
I agree! If I have seen large and crisp pictures, I would not hesitate to bid $500 and up. Rusty. -
Soviet Strange Order of the Red Banner?
HuliganRS replied to order_of_victory's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Where do you see that I wrote it was a fake? Did you not read the part where I said: "It looked good..." -
Soviet Strange Order of the Red Banner?
HuliganRS replied to order_of_victory's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
That was meant that I can get one from a deler with large and crisp pictures that would gaurantee to me it's authenticity for $150 more. I have never called your piece a fake. I didn't buy it, that's all there's to it. Respectfully, Rusty. -
Soviet Strange Order of the Red Banner?
HuliganRS replied to order_of_victory's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
No one said it was fake! With the pictures you sent me all I could tell that it was an OGPWII on suspension. I had a gut feeling that never failed me so I ran with it. I hope someone got a great deal... Rusty. -
Soviet Strange Order of the Red Banner?
HuliganRS replied to order_of_victory's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Rick, That's in the eye of the beholder. Original enamel comands a premium. What that premium is is up to the seller. Rusty. -
Soviet Strange Order of the Red Banner?
HuliganRS replied to order_of_victory's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Rick, Sadly more than 90% have upper ray enamel missing! There are a few out there that are OK but they are few an far in between! Most damaged ones have had that enamel replaced! I've been collecting for a while and have seen a handfull with full enamel still present... Rusty. -
Soviet Strange Order of the Red Banner?
HuliganRS replied to order_of_victory's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
The more I looked at it, something wasn't just right! It looked good but I had a weird feeling about it... I decided to pass. I can get a real one for about $150 more. Rusty. -
Soviet Really interesting Red Banner ;>)
HuliganRS replied to Stogieman's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
The seller is an A$$!!! He placed an original used and worn ribbon, then I can see wear traces on the front of the medal! This is sad... I predict it going for about $500 any other bets? Rusty. -
Soviet Strange Order of the Red Banner?
HuliganRS replied to order_of_victory's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
I'm interested in it myself and the only problem I could see from those scans is that the enamel is replaced on the upper arm. Rusty. -
Soviet Strange Order of the Red Banner?
HuliganRS replied to order_of_victory's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Just as fake as the Republican Order! The obvious stuff from these pics: The whole Reverse is BAD. Mint Mark should be part of the medal (Not Stamped) S/N is stamped with wrong digit dies The ring holding the screwplate should be flat The dish in the middle is too deep The whole reverse field is too smooth The obverse pic is too dark for any kind of good analasys. Rusty. P.S. You didn't buy the OGPWII from this seller did you? -
Soviet Strange Order of the Red Banner?
HuliganRS replied to order_of_victory's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
This is another of the "fake" Republican awards. They all seem to share common reverse construction. Rusty. -
Soviet Which one would you research?
HuliganRS replied to Digger Doug's topic in USSR: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
I'd go with the Red Star. It's a solid award with good chances of a great research! Rusty. -
