    4. Guards Major and Hero of Soviet Union. He was born 15.02.1919 in Belogorodka village, Kiev area. Graduated Odessa Military Flying School in 1938. Since august 1942 he fought with 8th Guard Fighters Group (since February 8, 1943 with 42nd Guard Fighters Group). Made 219 sorties. Took part in 64 air fight. Was wounded twice and contused. 20 personal kills + 3 in the group.

    6. Please re-read my post carefully And you will see that I wrote that the star is made in gold. But the rifle and saber are painted (actually oxidized). Traces of this oxidization on reverse you are calling "dark metal". If you are so suspicious simply make a deep scratch on this "dark metal" and you will see gold under P.S. The weight of rear gold star actually varies between 9 g (min) and 15 g (max).
    7. Well it looks ok to me. Type 2, variation 2.... The star looks like correct gold one (it should weight around 15 g) As for discoloration - I think this is spreaded silver paint from rifle and saber Another argument for gold - this silver paint completely gone from bottom part of rifle butt and we can see gold ...
