    1. Paul, Time permitting, I will post a few more this weekend. Regards, Sandro
    2. Thanks Paul, thanks Scott. Yes, Eric was instrumenal in getting the display together. The pic is of Walter Rummler, 15. Kompgnie, Infanterie Lehr Regiment, the Fallschirm infanterie Kompagnie. The pic shows the button with Nr. 15. The FIK was subsequently transformed in the FIB. Regards, Sandro
    3. Thanks Paul, thanks Nesredep. They are from an album of someone who served in the unit right around the time the unit was transferrred into the Luftwaffe. About 75% of the pics show the unit as part of the Landespolize, 25 % show it as part of the early LW. I have a few additional LPG GG pics from other sources as well. Regards, Sandro
    4. Chirs, I?ve done a quick check of my library, and found nothing. If on closer inspection I find a pic, I will be sure to post it. Regards, Sandro
    5. In view of the writing on the back, and the absence of a croatian pilot badge as note by Gene, I consider it quite likely that Gene is right. Regards, Sandro
    6. Second, a pair of dress shoulderboards to Wilhelm II as Chef of the Russian infantry regiment Wyborg. Enjoy! Regards, Sandro
    7. Pic # 5. The feathers are in fact more purple than red, but the photoeditingprogram messed them up a bit in hte previous pic. The plugged hole above Bavarian cockade once held the Landcockarde (1841 - 1851). There is also a plugged hole on the other side which at one point clearly held a cockarde (there is an old impression of a cocarde in the leather). The trichter and screw are missing at the moment, but will be with me soon.
    8. I think its time to breath some new life into this thread. I?ve been on my annual shopping tour, and turned up these two beauties. First, a M 1832 Bavarian officers Kasket from the household of Prince Alfons of Bavaria. The label inside identifies it as the former property of Prinzregent Luitpold.
    9. I'm posting this pic courtesy of Francois Saez. When posted on another forum, this pic created something of a heated (and rather speculative) debate around the (nationality of) the pilot depicted. What are we, in fact, looking at? Views invited. Regards, Sandro
    10. And Nr. 7. Incidentally, if you are interested in the embryonic formations that ultimately were drawn into the LW, you may wish to check out this little display: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=24953 Regards, Sandro
    11. Nr. 4. Trust you have all noticed the police uniforms with LW eagle, the Prussian opolice style standarte, and the police helmets? And of course, the LPG GG cufftitle, which appears to be the same for all ranks (some books indiate there may have been differences in materials used for officers and EM/NCO?s).
