    1. Well, that coluld be. An optical illusion. Here another nice example with 21.Korps, b.10.Inf.Div., Böhm-Ermolli, Erzherzog Carl
    2. Hello Chip! Well, you might be right. If I compare it with the collar badge in the back ground. Maybe it´s been worn at the collar...
    3. Hello Fritz! Please check the sizes of the two badges. 8th RD was smaller than Carl. Herre 8thRD seems to be larger... I don´t think it´s 8thRD
    4. Hello! Probably a nice, rare photo! This might be a Renault Model 1915
    5. Hello Fritz! A brilliant photo!!!!!! What´s the first badge of the cap of the man first row, 5th from right, please?
    6. There ain´t no more interesting entries in the papers. Unfortunately. Jakob Kohlauf, born 25.1.1896 in Winkel (Lenggries) 18.10.1906 Rekrut in bav. Inf.Rgt.1 22.8.1914: 4.Ers.Kp./Inf.Leib-Rgt. 3.1.1916: überzähliger Gefreiter 30.6.1916: etatmäßiger Gefreiter Education: Driver Here is his Stammrolle. I will try to get a better readable scan
    7. Of course! No problem! Please note, that this page is written in 1914. So the entry about the Edelweiß must have been done later in 1915
    8. Hi Fritz! A really nice collection! The last one (34mm). It has a single small pollen in the middle. It looks like mine in the first row (3rd from left) in #217. But the size in untypically. Maybe a civilian one? I recieved a nice collection of a man who served in peacetime in bav. Inf.Rgt.1 and after mobilization in Inf.Leib-Rgt. In the III.Reich Wehrpaß it´s mentioned, that he served in those units, nothing more. In his Militärpaß he recieved MVK III, EKII and DA3, the battles are unfortunately unreadable; but his Soldbuch!!!!! "ist berechtigt, das Edelweißabzeichen zu tragen" (is authorized to wear the Edelweiß-badge)!
    9. Are there any influences? Note that none of the austrian or german badges were allowed to wear by the german Emperor! The only allowed badges were the Edelweiß and the Carpathian Corps badge.
    10. Hello Fritz! I don´t think so. The austrians were under german command, but no gferman unit was under austrian command. So the would be no reason for them to wear a divisional badge.
    11. I´m not sure, but I assume they used, IF they used, french or russian cars
    12. Hello! That´s strange, but do we know, that the description is right?
    13. Hello! I can confirm!!! So I was wrong in my first opinions! I just recieved the book "Panzer-Kraftwagen" (Tankograd N°1007), in which I found exactly your initial photo! It is described as: "One of the two 60hp Izhorski-Hotchkiss vehicles captured near Wilna in August 1915. This was the one later to become Lotta" in Freikorps service, and it is here under repair. It bears the inscription "E.K.P.10 H.W.1" (Etappen-Kraftwagen-Park 10, Hilfs-Werkstatt 1), denoting the support workshop of the Motor Transport Depot of the 10th Army. Note the straight alignment of the upper armour plate on the bonnet side"
    14. Unfortunately I haven´t got more infos. It´ll be a mistery...
    15. Good drawing! I think the turret could have been changed. The Chassis is an Austin.
    16. Hello! It looks like a british Austin, built for the russian army, used by rumanian troops. E.K.P.10 probably is "Etappen-Kraftwagen-Park" 10, KW = Kraftwagen 1
    17. Erwin: There is only one austrain on that photo. Chris: I read "Hauptverbandsplatz" (right it´s called Hauptverbandplatz - without an s) = main dressing station
    18. That´s him, right! But I wonder, what he did at the western front? The ranklist of 1918 shows him in IR59: http://www.rainerregiment.at/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=290&Itemid=208 And here he is listed in may 1918 (choose Offiziersliste "N I", not N II O!) http://www.rainerregiment.at/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=204&Itemid=133 I don´t know what the "w" left of the date means. Commanded to the Western Front??????? Probably he just made a visit (privatly or as an observer). In that period no austrian units were in that area. At that time, his unit was under command of VI.Corps in Italy
    19. Hello Fritz! That´s my thought too. According to the high number I don´t think it´s military
    20. Hello! I´m not sure, if this one is german, austrian or another foreign tinny... Does anyone know, which one this one is, please?
    21. Hello! Are you sure with 22? T ist´s a three-digit number according to the regiments in that division (221, 222, 223)
