    1. Hello Jeff! The first label says: Leutnant zur See Kaiser (service on S.M.S. Hertha) The second label says: Kapitänleutnant der Seewehr Kayser (service Landwehrbezirk IIIHamburg, IX.Armeekorps) Wilhelmshaven, Januar 1915 Here are the entries of the ranklist 1914
    2. Hello! Does someone own the book "Geschichte des Infanterie-Regiments 395" (by Max Gerth) ? I need an info about an officer, who maybe served with that regiment. Thank you!
    3. Hi Chris! 1) Eduard zu Salm-Horstmar https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eduard_zu_Salm-Horstmar 2) ? 3) Georg v. Kanitz https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georg_von_Kanitz
    4. Hi Chris,. I can read the first sentence: 3 Monate Gefängnis, weil er sich am 1.7.17 zusammen mit dem ??? von seinem Truppenteil unerkaubt entfernte und ihm bis zum 6.2.17 ferngeblieben ist
    5. Hello! I´ve seen those crossed symbols on an saxon infantry uniform (Crossed rifles) We assume it´s a Waffenmeister-Gehilfe. Maybe the artillery had similar branches?
    6. I just wanted to say, that the cuffs are not blue (if someone would think, it could be Train...)
    7. Please have a look at the plum and the belt. That´s black. The cuffs seem to be red. Blue for Train doesn´t fit, because Train had white belts
    8. Well, it looks so, but it can´t be. There ain´t no other possibility with non-black cuffs and guard-helmet
    9. Hello! No, it´s not Eisenbahn. Note the cuffs. Eisenbahn had black cuffs, These here are red
    10. Hello! Here we have Major Kurt v. Plüskow. Since april 1917 commander of the Jg.Btl.8 Photo was taken in Macedonia. Does he wear a "Hausorden of Hohenzollern with swords"? There are different v. Plüskows in the army lists. Does someone knows, which one he is? I assume, in peace-time he served with 1.Garde-Rgt.z.F. (5.comp.) Which other awards does he wear, please?
    11. Hi Dave! I can´t see an officer in that photo. To me it´s an Unteroffizier. Einjährig Freiwillige had stripes pipings around the shoulder straps. Here is an example of Inf.Rgt.96
    12. That´ s great, Andy! That explains everything. Thanks a lot! So Glenn is right when he says, the photo was taken between 1905 and 1907. So the "bridge" at the epaulettes might have three red lines. The epaulett crecsents might be silver, because Officers "z.D." had silver crescents, if the active uniform had golden ones and conversely.
    13. Ah, ok, Glenn, Thank you. I don´t have the RL 1905. From that period I only have 1904 and 1909. It´s a little bit strange, that he was transfered between those different units.
    14. Hello Glenn! Are you sure? Do you have any infos about him according to Füs.Rgt.80? Rangliste 1899: Major I./Inf.Rgt.131 Stellenbesetzungsliste: Franz Nowina v. Axt (11.9.1852-21.2.1908) is listet as commander of Inf.Rgt. 124 (27.1.1901-7.7.1901). Rangliste 1904: prussian Oberst, Commander Inf.Rgt.124
    15. I´m not sure about the charactere of this officer. I assume we see a Major (I can´t recognize any star) He wears the Iron Cross with the 25 (introduced 1895 and the Centenar-Medal (introduced 1897). It also seems to be a Roter-Adler-Orden and a Kronen-orden. The Rangliste 1899 has: Major v. Wegener (II./Füs.Rgt.80) Major v. Knoblauch zu Hatzbach (III./Füs.Rgt.80) The Rangliste 1904 has: Oberstleutnant v. Schlutterbach (Staff/Füs.Rgt.80), promoted february 1902, so Major until 1902 The Rangliste 1909 has no Iron Cross wearer. Probably it is one of the officers mentioned above.
    16. Hello Dave! Garde-Regiment zu Fuß. 2., 3., or 4. Regiment. 2. (red shoulder straps) 3. (yelow shoulder straps) 4. (blue shoulder straps) He wears black leather, so it´s III. Bataillon of one of those regiments.
    17. Hello! My new entries with two question to photo 1 1) Which cross does he wear? Pour le Merite or Johanniter??? Is there a chance to identify him? I assume Garde-Kürassier-Regiment 2) What is handwritten upon the photo? The 2nd one wears a Landwehrdienstauszeichnung, Centenar-medal, Königgrätz-Cross, 70/71 medal with clasps from the battles of Gravelotte, Metz, Villiers and Paris (Photo taken in Stettin, according to the battles he probably served with Gren.Rgt.2)
    18. Hello gents! I bought this nice photo. We see a lieutenenat of the 1.Garde-Feldartillerie-Regiment. The photo must be taken before 1899, because since then the colours of the epaulettes changed into white. But I don´t know which cross he wears. I assume, it´s not a german one, isn´t it? Thanks a lot!
    19. Hello! Bavarian Kraftfahrer changed their helmet into Tshakos since june 5, 1912. On this photo, they don´t have Litzen, so we have a bavarian Kraftfahr-Kolonne, that was set-up in war-time
