    1. Greetings, I know that several members have been looking for a Prinz Eugen tally for some time. I would like to make an offer, but I am saving my money for some U-Boat tallies. This is a tough one for me to determine if original myself. I would be curious to see what some more experienced members had to say. If it was real however, I would be doing this ( :banger: ) Best luck. I would love to know if one of the members here is successful on purchasing. Regards, 2dresq http://cgi.ebay.de/w...E:B:ONA:DE:1123
    2. Thanks all for the great links and the information. Regards, JustinG
    3. My question is in regards to determining the original issue of the British Campaign stars such as the France and Germany, Burma, Atlantic, Aircrew Europe, Italy, Pacific etc... to the post war and even reproductions of these awards. My knowledge of British and Commonwealth medals is limited. Were the issued pieces engraved at all? Is there a way to identify the material of the ribbon? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to acquire a Air Crew and Atlantic Star to my collection one day. I would like to have the knowledge to determine if it is a later re-issue/reproduction or if it is of war-time production and issued. Thanks. Justin G
    4. Greetings, I wondered which companies were producing the TDB. Are they marked in any way? I have only one example. Can anyone shed some light on this for me. Regards, JustinG 2dresq
    5. That is an incredible set. That would almost a sure death sentence for the unfortunate sailors who were assigned to those units; especially so late in the war. Absolutely incredible. Great shot showing the ships. Regards, JustinG 2dresq
    6. Wow, Thanks for the great info Rick. I greatly appreciate it. Regards, JustinG
    7. I wish to post these U-boat school tallies. I am very fortunate to add these to my collection. Regards, JustinG 2dresq
    8. Greetings, I am purchasing this plaque. I thought it was interesting. I like the date. One day prior to outbreak of war. Pretty neat. What do you think. Regards, 2dresq JustinG
    9. I believe this is the "fictional" insignia for the Sub in the movie " U-571" . This could be a movie prop. Regards, JustinG
    10. Thanks all, I appreciate all the kind words. Regards, JustinG 2dresq I look forward to my future collections. I am working on framing photos to go along with my "armada" of tallies I have acquired. It is going to require alot of wall space, but, I believe this would be a wonderful representation. Gordon's posting showing the tallies and the ships represented showed me how good that can look in that layout. Regards, Justin 2dresq
    11. The Center piece of the collection; a badge that I am extremely fortunate to have. My near mint Schnellbootabzeichen. Thanks for looking. The Other Schnellabzeichen badge was posted on this forum. There is controversy around this badge. I believe it to be a good one of war-time production, and so, I have it in my display. The Eagle is maker marked M in a Diamond. Regards all, JustinG 2dresq
    12. I have a nice zinc worn minesweeper, This maintains about 70% of original finish. It has a nice worn look. I like it.
    13. zinc U-boat, but I like it. It's in great shape. Regards, JustinG Would be nice to trade out and add a Junker eagle golden U-boat badge. Like that eagle on the Junker example.
    14. High Seas Fleet badge. Zinc/worn badge. Regards, JustinG
    15. Spanish Cross The pin is believed to be of "wartime" repair. I think it is a fine repair. I am happy to have these two in my collection. (Destroyer and Spanish Cross)
    16. The Tombak Destroyer badge. This badge as well as the spanish cross w/o Swords belonged to the same KM sailor. I just acquired the cross from a friend who said that the group had been apart for over 10 years. I am happy to re-unite them. JustinG 2dresq
    17. Coastal Artillery badge. Maker marked, Zinc example
    18. My 2nd pattern Marked Schnellboot badge.
    19. Here we go. Auxiliary Cruiser badge. Tombak. Attributed to Junker if I am not mistaken. Regards, JustinG

    22. Thanks for the complements guys. Yes Martin, I believe we did get our badges from the same seller. I am sure all of us have similar fortunes with our spouses when dealing with this hobby. It is nice to know that there are so many good people here in the forums, and a great avenue to get in touch with people who share this hobby.
