    1. Rombak, That is a great grouping. I haven't seen a print of the painting shown in post 483 before with the destroyer hit heading for the shoreline under fire I assume from a battery. Gorgeous groupings. I achieved my goal and have successfully completed my complete Zerstörer Mützenband collection with the Anton Schmitt. This includes the 10 at Narvik (22 total named ship tallies) So, I thought I would share this rare beauty.
    2. Thanks Morten. I wanted to share, I was able to acquire one of the rarest and elusive Mützenaband. The Zerstörer Anton Schmitt. This tally gives me every named destroyer for the Kriegsmarine. Thanks for looking.
    3. Here is an interesting one. I just took this in Chicago at the Museum of Science and industry. I found it interesting that this submariner also wore the Hilfskreuzer badge. Photo is from the Museum of Science and Industry. Picture is so poorly taken, it doesn't need a watermark. LOL! Regards, JustinG
    4. My completed Schnellboote fleet. Thanks for looking. JustinG 2dresq
    5. Surviving the Bismarck's only voyage and the attack from the HMS Hood and Prince of Wales. She was a lucky ship but she was also a troubled ship. Crashing into the Kreuzer Leipzig and having it's stern blasted off by the HMS Trident's torpedo. It also participated among the ships of Operation Cerberus. Would love to see the official report from the Leipzig and the Eugen captains explaining the actions that took place during this collision. Regards, JustinG
    6. My latest purchase. Kreuzer Prinz Eugen Wappen. I am so very happy to have this coming my way. Thanks for looking. 2dresq JustinG
    7. Here is some art I created using two Sturmtrupp badges in my collection. Hope you like. Regards, 2dresq
    8. Greetings, I was curious and unsuccessful in my research. I am trying to find out what the most successful (highest total of downed enemy aircraft) for a Allied BOMBER? We all know the fighter counts and such, I was curious about the men in the bombers and their successes. I look forward to your responses. Regards, Justin
    9. Greetings, I have two new duplicates to add to my fleet. Unterseebootsflottille Wegener and Unterseebootsschulflottille Both were pretty reasonably priced. I have many duplicates and am always interested in the acquisition of the Zerstörer Anton Schmitt and the Unterseebootstender Mosel; I also do straight up cash purchases for these as well. Can you help me out?
    10. Some very nice photos shown gentlemen. Thanks all who have posted. Regards, 2dresq JustinG
    11. Greetings, So to finish with my Wappen, I have the Unterseebootsbeglietschiff Saar, the Bremse, the Jaguar, the Admiral Graf Spee, and the Schlachtschiff Scharnhorst. The Wappen have become sort of my auxillary focus apart from the naval muetzenband of the Kriegsmarine. If anyone cares to liquidate or sell, I am in the market. Thanks for looking. Regards, JustinG
    12. Hi Paul, Yes, I don't think these have a large following. I stumbled on to this piece on ebay. With not having a huge market, it makes me feel a bit more confident to pick this up as it likely hasn't made it a profitable piece for a cast forger/fake to come to the market. Best Regards, JustinG
    13. Interesting the Zulu flag. Of course this photo was post war colorized I presume. Wonder why that particular signal flag was chosen? Great photo though. Thanks for posting. Regards, JustinG
    14. I have been much busier and have acquired some very nice pieces. I will photograph my others and post as well. Regards, JustinG
    15. I hope I have this under the appropriate section. This is a Uboat Veteran pin I picked up. I think it looks good. It varies from the one shown in Mr. Gordon Williamson's Torpedo Los Book. Page 387. I think it is a good one. What say you? Thanks for looking and commenting. Best Regards, JustinG
    16. Very interesting photo Norstrom. I am happy that people have not dismantled or removed the stones. Quite beautiful. Regards, JustinG
    17. I have also been fortunate to add an even rare piece. The Kreuzer Lützow. Regards, JustinG
    18. I have acquired a really nice full spelled out version of the Erwin Waßner. I am happy to add this to my collection. Regards, JustinG
    19. Greetings, This is a fine tally in the Metalfaden version. Really good pick up. These U-tender/beglietschiff tallies are increasingly rare. I am in search of my last one I need, the Unterseebootstender Mosel. Really nice. Mützenbands are fairly easy to detect originality or not. The most difficult one is the Scharnhorst as the Belfast museum made some good (replicas) Even these are easy to spot though as one leg of the tally is shorter than the other. Regards, JustinG
    20. Well, I have only recently acquired a nice ship wappen "Kreuzer Leipzig" It is my first plaque besides sailing plaques pre war issue. I hope to add many more. The other additions look great gentlemen. Thanks, Justin
    21. Hi, this is a nice pick up and IMO picked up for about 40Euro less than what one would expect to pay from a dealer. A nice pick up. The Aviso Grille is a interesting story, I have wanted to obtain a Führerstandard insigina that the crew specialized to the Grille had worn on their Right arm sewn to their uniforms. I will try to find the source for where I have seen this image. Really worth your while to obtain the Cap Arcona and other KdF ships. The Cap Arcona is currently for sale on WAF. Regards, JustinG
    22. As probably everyone can attest to: Whenever there is something that you need to complete or add to a collection, the elusive pieces (which may not be that rare) still are rare to you. Regards, JustinG 2dresq
    23. Thanks Peter, I feel fortunate. I am also fortunate to add this nice cotton Erich Giese. It should be arriving any day now. An early Christmas present. :)
    24. Really sad. I for one refuse to purchase any dogtag that has been split; for fear that it was taken from a grave site. This is a fine line as many of us collectors agree, it is immoral to dig up in graves items like this. However, I remember that there were dives on the Tirpitz and some desirable HSF badges were obtained as well as pieces of teak wood which served to be a lovely backing. I don't own one of these pieces, however, I would be tempted to purchase if given the opportunity; even knowing that this "war grave" was disturbed. Regards, JustinG
