Apparently 1-2 came out on the market during the "opening of the bank vault" period last year. Before then, I've been informed that there was one on the market in Mongolia about 3 years ago with an asking price of USD 2000. Wish I'd been around then!

This guys won quite a few awards... I'm sure he needs no introduction. But what is the one award in his Mongolian group at bottom right hand corner (on top are 3 SB's and to the left of it is a Khalkin Gol badge)? Have sent out request for info to one of the leading experts... but perhaps somebody here can already help? E.g. somebody with Russian translation knowledge?

Will be posting some pics interesting for Mongolian award fans. Will include a new "Order" (at least, the description under the award group mentioned in cyrillic that it was an order) not depicted in Dr B's book. Posts probably late tomorrow... just returned from vacation and need some sleep before I dive into work and then the various digital pics I took.

I guess lack of numbering and thus lack of researchability is a main factor in the unpopularity... oh well, it's hard enough as it is to get good albanian items:)

I recall somebody on either this forum or soviet-awards.com had a Soviet hero star awarded to a Mongolian in his possession.

L24 - 50 years of the geology no mintmarks etc. - completely flat reverse

L16 - ministry of energy and mining relief reverse and similar mark as on L11

L20 - the outstanding worker of the geology Again, some kind of mark on reverse near the pinback.

Here we have L21 - 40 years of geology no mark, but relief on reverse

L03 (The outstanding miner) and L11 (The labor champion - The ministry of energy and mining). Note, again nothing special on reverse except for the mint (?) mark on reverse of L11.

L28 - 25 years of the Erdenet Copper mine. I've added also the regional badge for Erdenet which reflects the mining activities there. Nothing special on the reverse, however notice the silver mark on L28. Does it give a hint as to where it was made?

A very nice (and high!) Albanian award.

Difficult to determine sometimes... even 3rd class (?) appear to have some gilt. When I received this one I was surprised to see it's relatively small unlike the tendency to make these Albanian awards rather massive.

I have quite a few of the mining/energy ones - one of my focus areas. Will post later. Notice on the L14 the mintmark (?) on the ring!

344 - 16.3gr 393 - 14.7gr With these weights, I think we're on a wild goose chase for these very early awards... just too much chance of slight variations (e.g. manufacturing or shortening of the screw).
