    1. Immense amounts of material related to this Jamyan group which I've not yet posted and will show some of this. The VERY big and heavy badge is from the Defense Auxiliary Society. Underneath it is a load of post cards that belonged to Lt. Gen. Jamyan. Scan of some of them... Scan "Postcard 1": shows a New Year greeting from Chairman of Bulgarian Parliament Stanko Todorov (his original signature is present). Envelope is missing. The same scan show a March 8 postcard from Mongolian Women's Committee. It has Jamyan's name written on top of the card. Beautiful Mongolian made card. The Front is not shown on the scan. Scan "Postcard 2": shows a Mongolian postcard with a women. Inside page bears three unidentified signatures. There is a postcard with Mongolian 1960 Coats of Arms with a hand signature of P.Ochirbat (then Minister of Mining and Geology and later President of Mongolian People's Republic /I hope I am not wrong but will let you know with confirmation/) and a blue New Year greeting card from UB MPRP committee (signed). Scan "Postcard 3": Shows signed 1980 New Year Card with the depiction of the Government House and Statue of Sukhbaatar. Below this post card is a 1985 New Year Greeting card from the Member of Politburo of Central Committee of MPRP and First Secretary of UB party commitee B. Altangerel. (Top number 3 guy in Party system back in 1980s). The card is not signed, probably carried a name card which is, unfortunately, missing. Scan "Postcard 4": Show a Supreme Soviet building and USSR Coats of Arms on cover page and a New Year Greeting with a facsimile signature of a Soviet official. There is also 1983 New Year greeting Mongolian card. Scan "Postcard 5": Shows New Year greeting to a member of the 18th Party Congress (of which Jamyan was a delegate and 60 Year to Police greeting card from the Party committee of Ministry of Public security) Scan "Postcard 6": Post card of two Soviet Cosmonauts Belyaev and Leonov with their original signatures on the front. Belyaev's signature is well preserved as he signed in ballpoint pen. Leonov's is partially missing as his signature is done in ink. (I compared the signatures over the internet, they are original). Below this card, is post card issued in 1981 on occasion of the Mongol-Soviet space flight. It has no signatures. Many of the postcards are high-end top government/party postcards that were not in sale and were made only of the order of the party committee and state organization.
    2. 1) Badge of the Excellent Border Guard with the paperback document. The certificate is dated 1995 with the signature of Commander of Border Guard Troops Major General P. Sundev. 2) Honorary Badge of the Civil Defense of MPR with the red leather document. The certificate is dated 1974 with the signature of Chief of Department of Civil Defense of MPR Lt. General J. Jamyan 3) Badge of the 60th anniversary of Mongolian Pioneer Organisation with the paperback document. Awarded in 1985 and signed by the Chairwoman of Mongolian Pioneer Organisation Ch. Tserendulam 4) Badge of the care-taker of the Young Generation with the document. Awarded in 2010. 5) Leather cover document of the Honorary Badge of the Mongolian Red Cross Society. Awarded in 2008. The badge is missing. Interestingly the Mongolian Red Cross used the earlier and thus outdated documents. They simply glued new page and used the old doc cover. 6) Document of the Honorary badge of the Mongolian trade union. Awarded in 2005. The badge is missing. 7) Document of the Badge of Master of Sports of Mongolia in Mountain Climbing. Awarded in 2003 by the Altai Mountain Climbing Club. The badge is missing. 8) Entry Pass to access Soviet stores in the compound of Soviet Military units located in Mongolia. The document has the picture of Lt.Colonel D. Damba as of 1981. The pass prolonged till the end of 1981 and 1982. 9) The credentials of the delegate to MPRP Congress from Sukhbaatar province. The dark blue colored document is dated May 13, 1971. 10) The ID document of the correspondent/journalist of the "Care-taker" newspaper under the Ministry of Military Affairs and Public Security of MPR. Date Feb 17, 1959. The doc reads "Reporter Damba Dorj has a right to access the labor camps and prisons for the purpose of taking interviews. Signed by the Editor of the newspaper. 11) Last but not least, Motorbike driving license belonging to Dorj. The license bears the photo of younger Dorj in his military uniform. the license issued by decree #25 on June 7, 1957 from the Department of Traffic Police. ============================= Here is also the translation of the bio of Colonel Dorj from a book. Dorj was in fact awarded the Order of Sukhbaatar. It looks like that he had an impressive service and a man of many talents. "Colonel Damba Dorj was born in Bayan-Ovoo county of Bayankhongor province in 1923. He graduated from the Central School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 1947. Colonel Dorj also graduated from the School under the Committee of State Security of USSR and the Party University respectively. He holds the profession of a lawyer. From 1947-1967, he served as the officer and later senior officer of Ministry of Internal Affairs at the Border guard unit #6, the officer at the Division of the Ministry of Public Security in Bayankhongor province, the officer at the Central HQ of the same Ministry and officer of the Special Division for Armed Forces. From 1967-1989, he headed the prisons in Bat-Ulziit County and Avrdrant County. He also headed the Central Prison. Colonel Dorj was awarded the Order of Sukhbaatar, the Order of the Red Banner of Military Valor and the Order of Combat Valor. He was also decorated with the Honorary Medal of Combat, Jubilee medals, the Honorary Chekist Badge, the Badge of Outstanding Employee of Correctional Service and the Badge of the Excellent Border Guard. Colonel Dorj has served as the Head of the detention facilities for 22 years and he has contributed enormously to the strengthening of the human resources of the correctional units. He was known to the public as the “grey headed colonel of correctional services”. Colonel D. Dorj recalls “ I took part in the border skirmishes in the western part of Mongolia at the end of 1940s. One day, a unit of ten soldiers including me received an order to apprehend a group of 7 Kazakh bandits that plundered and robbed a herder household. We have managed to catch up with the bandits and shot one of them. The remaining bandits had no choice but to flee and find a refuge beyond the state border. I was appointed as the Head of the prison in Bat-Ulzii County in 1967. Since then, I have devoted my entire life to the cause of the correctional services of Mongolia. I have headed the Bat-Ulzii prison for five years and then I was appointed as the Head of the Central Prison. I worked there for 10 years. 1982, I was tasked to build a maximum security Avdrant Prison and the Special Prison. During my service at Avdrant Prison, I initiated and implemented a project on building a stone and rock processing plant there. It became the largest plant of such kind in Mongolia. The Avdrant Prison was a compound of many buildings that included the prison building, the plant building, an office building and the personnel residences. I am still proud of my younger colleagues like Colonel Sandagsuren, Lt. Colonel Munkhjargal, Lt. Colonel Baatarjav, Major Tumurbaatar, Sergeant Gunchin and others. " “People remembered by their deeds” compiled by the Veterans’ Committee of Correctional Services of Mongolia. Published in Ulaanbaatar in 2007. Pages 20-21.
    3. Here some documents apparently belonging to a Mongolian Hero (General Dorj) - documents supposedly intended to keep track of the money the receiver gets each month.
    4. While my collection does not focus on Dutch orders/medals (my focus is Mongolia, Albania and a few others), I did want to get something Dutch in my collection and I'm pleased with what Santa brought me for Christmas: a second half of 19th century Military Willems Orde 4th class with original ribbon and cased with reference to M.J. Goudsmit as the manufacturer. Appreciate any comments/corrections.
    5. A small documented group that belonged to Lt. Colonel Lhagva Dashzeveg. Included in the group are: 1. Badge of the Honorary Chekist with the booklet. The badge was awarded on July 8, 1982 and is serial numbered 575. As is common for later Chekist badges, the serial number of the badge is not entered in the booklet. The booklet is hand signed by the Minister of Public Security of MPR Colonel General Luvsangombo. The threading of the screw is very well preserved and the original screwplate is tightly fixed. 2. Still coming in the mail but belonging to the same group: order of the Polar Star of MPR with serial number 11587. Awarded on December 31, 1965. The serial number of the order is entered in the Order Booklet as well as the date. However, the names of most of the awards (apparently the Order of Polar Star, Order of Combat Valor and the Order of Red Banner of Combat Valor) were not stamped. Yet, the name of the Medal of 40th anniversary of revolution is stamped. The booklet has a chest photo of Dashzeveg in his early career years. Unfortunately, Dashzeveg's awards were sold to different dealers and only these two came my way. In a nutshell, Dashzeveg devoted his whole life to the intelligence service. He has served at different intelligence departments for 37 years. Dashzeveg was a core intelligence service officer whose cadres were much smaller compared to Border Guards and Police. He started his career at the central HQ in 1949, continued at the local intelligence unit in Bayanhongor province, transferred to technical (eavesdropping) division, continued at the signals division, etc. More details to come later.
    6. I managed to find the Dekorimet book online and for a wonderful price so finally got my copy. Appears to be a wonderful source of information although challenging for non-Albanian speakers such as myself.
    7. Yep, that is all i was able to find with google as well. I am not at home but in a couple of days will be and will then do a search in the 3piece fairly exhaustive history booms of albania which i have. There is one hint in red on the document but my albanian is a bit 'rusty' - perhaps a native speaker can help : educational instructor kruje?
    8. Something very rare... An order of skanderbeg award document from 1930, framed, awarded to Italian "Giulio Folegatti" and signed by King Zog... Will be digging into my albania book collection to try to find out more about him! without the actual award
    9. PPSh Congress 10 year anniversary badge - 1941 - 1951
    10. Speaking of books, just received "A Royal Exile - King Zog and Queen Geraldine of Albania" - looks fascinating and with many pics - probably not new to some of you... but here's a surprise which will be new and may be of immense interest: http://www.bol.com/nl/p/nederlandse-militairen-in-albanees-wespennest-1913-1914-kroniek-van-hachelijke-vredesmissie/9200000027564089/ I.e. "Dutch military personnel in an Albanian hornets nest - 1913-1914, chronicles of a precarious peace keeping mission" The book is in Dutch and has 10 years of research in Dutch archives and chronicles in detail the individual 'biographies' of every Dutch peace keeper in Albania (incl e.g. Thomson, de Veer, etc.) - 1000 pages covering a half a year of Dutch involvement and with tons of photographs. I have ordered the book and look forward to reviewing it once I receive it!
    11. Here's something very interesting - a diamond studden Order of the Black Eagle... originally Wied's? https://www.dorotheum.com/en/auctions/current-auctions/kataloge/list-lots-detail/auktion/11464-orders-and-decorations/lotID/2196/lot/1961088-schwarzer-adler-orden.html?currentPage=4&img=1 Schwarzer Adler - Orden, Großkreuzset in Brillanten (!), Kleinod AR - vergoldet u. emailliert, Kreuzspitzen, Rauten und Krone mit zahlreichen Diamanten besetzt, an orig.
    12. It certainly looks interesting... Good on some aspects but raising question marks on others when comparing to other known examples with high numbers incl. A cased one posted here on gmic from an unquestionably reliable source
    13. boysodo is active on ebay again: 1) I won a government certificate auction for close to 15 USD, paid via paypal and expected it to be shipped. What did he do: cancel the listing and then sent me a message that after all he only wanted to sell it for at least 150 USD. Sellers remorse... I placed the bid on purpose to get a reason to report him to ebay and he fell for it. Hopefully they'll shut him down. 2) He is also listing a fake Mongolian KGB badge. His paypal account is using lallyjo@comcast.net as an email address with the (fake) John Lally name. The real person behind it is Mongolian. Be aware that this guy is a fraud.
    14. Some lots went to New Jersey... collectrussia is now posting the Hero Star for 49k USD (auction was at 17k GBP if not mistaken excl. fees) and the Vajra for a little over 7k like flipping real estate a couple of years ago... good luck to him...
    15. No further info unfortunately but no doubt that he received many other awards (aside from achievements, he clearly was relatively high up plus appears to have had a long career).
    16. I underbid on the hero star recently sold at the Morton & Eden auction. 12k GBP (excl. fees for the auction house) was not an unfair price but more than I was willing to spend.
    17. A small but interesting group related to Bunduu Natsagdorj who headed the protocol department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of MPR from 1974-1990. Attached are scans of the (incomplete) group and scans of table listing his full name and years (underlined) of directorship of the protocol department (Centenary history of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia 1911-2011). He has been the main person responsible for the state and diplomatic protocol preparations during the visits of Brezhnev, Kim Il Song and many other socialist camp national leaders to Mongolia. 1) Mongolian Honorary Medal of Labor with the booklet and plastic box. Nr 22763, awarded in 1976. 2) Mongolian Medal of 50th anniversary of revolution with the document.3) Mongolian Medal of 80th anniversary of revolution with the document.4) Mongolian Revolutionary Youth League's 50 years badge with the document.5) Medal of 1300 Years to Bulgaria with the document and original box.6) Centenary Medal of Georgii Dimitrov with the document and original box. 7) Medal of 40 Years to Socialist Republic of Bulgaria the document and original box.8) East German Merit Medal, with ribbon and original box.
    18. And some more items related to Jamyan arrived 1) Badge of the 60th anniversary of foundation of MPR. The badge has a VIP document awarded in 1984. 2) Badge of Military Glory of Mongolian Youth Union (successor of Mongolian Revolutionary Youth Union). The badge has a document awarded in 2000. 3) Souvenir plaque of 1979 auto rally "Friendship" hosted by the Defense auxiliary society (headed by Jamyan). The rally was held on the 50th anniversary of Defense auxiliary society and involved Mongolian and Soviet teams that traveled from Ulan-Ude (USSR) to the battle cites of Khalkhin Gol. 4) Magazine of Defense auxiliary society dated 1979 which features articles of prominent people including Jamyan himself. On the inside page of the front cover, the magazine has a stamp of the society and a handwritten inscription that reads " Defense auxiliary society of MPR". Included is a page that shows the itinerary (roadmap) of the above mentioned Friendship auto rally. 5) A souvenir plaque of the 1977 international auto rally "October 60" dedicated to the 60th anniversary of October revolution. The COMECON countries took part in this rally. 6) Invitation issued to Jamyan on Nov.7, 1984 requesting his presence at the ceremony of marking the 67th anniversary of October revolution in the Government House of MPR.
    19. Thanks - a basis for further research - will post if/when I find out more:)
    20. And pure fate, luck, and some $$$ resulted in the above mentioned soviet cavalry sword recently becoming a part of my collection! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shashka Good thread as it does have a Khalkin Gol badge on the scabbard Am awaiting translation of what's engraved on the blade.
    21. Just in, this large cloth ribbon bar with some ribbons which are leaving my puzzled (especially at the bottom)
    22. These pics were of one floor in one wing. There much much more - in particular displays with uniforms and assorted items. Also outside all kinds of soviet era tanks etc.
