    1. Finally found a way to reduce file size but keep pics readable!
    2. Have received all but 1 of the missing pages. Will do a "recount" of the nr of awardees this evening. In any case, it confims that also Orders of the Red Banner were awarded! Happy to send scans to those who also received previous time. Just PM me a reminder of your mail address. Full translation underway.
    3. http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Albania/North/Tropoje/photo359343.htm Link to a picture of the Fierza "Hydrocentral". Where the first two turbines are, who knows... but it's neat to see a real link to this award:)
    4. http://www.embassymon.at/news/news_5.html (includes nice pic!) Boxing champions awarded 23 September 2009 As decreed by President Ts. Elbegdorj on September 18, 2009, Mongolia’s boxers received State awards for achieving brilliant successes and bringing gold, silver and bronze medals home from the World Amateur Boxing Championships in Milan, Italy. P. Serdamba, a State Honored Sportsman, Olympic silver medalist and World Champion received the ‘Hero of Labor’ title, in addition to the ‘Order of Sukhbaatar’ award and the ‘Altan Soyombo’ medal. U. Monkh-Erdene, a State Honored Sportsman and World Championships bronze medalist, received the Red Banner of Labor Merit as he had also brought a silver medal from the 2008 World Boxing Cup. N. Togstsogt, a 17-year old Milan World Amateur Boxing Championships silver medalist and 2009 National Champion, received the State Honored Sportsman title in recognition of his success at such a young age. After the award ceremony, the President wished P. Serdamba added strength for his future success, N. Togstsogt success in his future bouts, and reminded U. Monkh-Erdene about expectations that he would become a world champion. “I would like to express my sincere thanks to all athletes, coaches and trainers for mobilizing all their efforts to gain these successes. Their recent success will lift Mongolians’ pride and aspirations to become future national champions. I also believe that free-style wrestlers will be given more energy and confidence to be victorious while training for the World Free-Style Championships,” the President said in his address.
    5. bellt buckle belonging to major general erendoo (shown in battushig book) not in my collection, but interesting to share
    6. That's a very nice group and I'm sure everybody here eagerly awaits what hopefully may come from research The bright yellow background is a first here as well :cheeky:
    7. I guess there's still the chance of new types popping up despite the hard work on this site last couple of years to document all types. However, sometimes indeed circumstances lead one to have to be suspicious... in general this award (unless with a matching document) i suspect may have badly numbered examples... on the other hadn, have yet to see duplicates. Looking forward to your additions to Suurin Baldan thread (of course:))
    8. Time to revisit this award after seeing something new / interesting on eBay. I suspect the light/dark enamel is just an insignificant difference and we have to go back to: hand-engraved number, always with 4 digits, known examples ranging from 0008 - 0407 rotating-tool serial, always with 3 digits, known examples ranging from 452 - 786 And then something weird / new on eBay: 3 digits, rotating tool engraved, "No 815" Not sure what to think of this... too bad we've seen so few documents coming out in the open is perhaps the best answer!
    9. Ranjit and others - just been offered a 1930's Mongolian KGB generals uniform. If interested I can post some pics (or facilitate a sale, as I am not focused on uniforms).
    10. What, you've kept this hidden for us for so long??? Please post soon - this place needs frequent updates or things go too quiet:) Practically, this list provides the names of Mongolians who received awards at the celebration of 50 years of Mongolian People's Army anniversary (i guess) but inevitably there'll be more Mongolians who - over time - have received Soviet awards. The link to the soviet-awards.com forum actually provides such an additional "early" list. One would have to assume that there'll also be "one off" awards aside from mass awardings. I've just sent you the scans. Please have a check anyway whether your guy is on the list. I doubt it as the date of the list is 1971 whereas yours was awarded in 1972. In fact, I hope he's not on it because that would break the working assumption that the list I have represents a correct order of award nr's. Anyway, keep on posting everybody!
