    1. And finally there were also some pictures of him (unfortunately without wearing the awards). The building is the "Postamt Hohenhausen-Lippe" (post-office in Hohenhausen-Lippe), Oberbracht is looking out of the window in the middle. Comments are always welcome :-) Best regards Roman
    2. And on 30th May 1915 he finally awarded the golden merit cross of the house-order Lippe-Detmold (Goldenes Verdienstkreuz zum Hausorden Lippe-Detmold), awarded 107 times. As well, all three related documents are existing, plus the statues of the house-order (version valid since 1913). The reason for the award was his retirement.
    3. On 18th May 1915 he recived as well the golden merit cross Prussia (Goldenes Verdienstkreuz Preussen), award-No. 5325.
    4. On 19th June 1906 he awarded the silver merit cross of the house-order Lippe-Detmold (Silbernes Verdienstkreuz zum Hausorden Lippe-Detmold), awarded 339 times. Attached you see the confirmation, the award notice and the award documents (with the signature of prince Leopold IV. Lippe-Detmold).
    5. Hi gents, I would liek to show you my latest purchase, which is a large group of documents (mainly related to genealogy). For me the most important documents were the following ones: Karl (Carl) Oberbracht was born 11 Feb. 1855 in Siebenhoefen (Lippe) and died 24 June 1919 in Detmold. In 1881 he became "Postgehilfe", in 1887 he became "Postassistent" and finally in 1904 he was promoted to a "Postsekretär".
    6. Hi Dave, thanks for the information..it seems that I have to go to the archive in order to look for the written suggestion for his award. Definitely he muswt have done a heroic deed. BR Roman
    7. Hi, I just got the small (incomplete) group direct from the family. Unfortunately not everything survived and some awards are missing (at least the IC 2nd class 1914). It belongs to Wachtmeister Firtz Kleinege(e)s, Haubitzen-Batterie Sturm-Batl. No.5 "Rohr" and consists of - Iron cross 1st class (marked KO) - Felddienst-Ehrenzeichen - Wounded badge in black - Cross for heroic deeds Lippe-Detmold with the award document (unfortunately in a poor condition). Kleinege(e)s received the Lippe-Detmold award on 11th June 1918. I promised the previous owner to find out, for what Kleinege(e)s received the Lippe-cross, but I need some help in advance. Where was the Sturm-Batl. No.5 Rohr between January and June 1918? There are some books about this quite famous unit..maybe Kleinege(e)s is mentioned in it??? Does anybody have some more details on this unit (beside what you can find on www)? Thanks in advance. BR Roman
    8. Arrrgh...this I didn´t know... But at least the type if shown, was only awarded 11 times (with Stempelschneider on it). BR Roman
    9. Hi, here is the probably rarest lifesaving medal of Imperial Germany. The lifesaving medal Lippe-Detmold was awarded only 20 times until 1918 :-) BR Roman
    10. May I introduce this gentleman? It is Georg Heinrich Kirchhof, born in Detmold in 1837, Oberst in IR No. 129, wearing beside the house order Lippe-Detmold 3rd class with swords also the house order Lippe-Detmold 2nd class with swords at the ring as one out of 11, who got this award. So the photo should be pretty rare :-) BR Roman
    11. Yes, but according to Rick´s rolls it was a war merit medal. That´s why I´m pretty sure, the big medalnbar still exists, because Rick must have known it. At the miniature chain, there is also the cross of "Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen" Prussia missing, that´s why I´m not putting much trust on it. Maybe missing items were replaced by the wrong awards (e.g. KHD cross Prussia). @ Chris No...green would disturb the whole image BR Roman
    12. Hi, I would like to show you my latest purchase, combined with a research question. It is the ribbonbar of Friedrich Multhaup, Fuerstlicher Bauerverwalter in Detmold (born 7th Sept. 1861 in Detmold). It contains of - war merit cross / war honor medal Lippe-Detmold (non-combatant-ribbon) - golden merit cross HO Lippe-Detmold - Leopold-order Lippe-Detmold merit cross - silver merit cross HO Lippe-Detmold - cross of Allgmeines Ehrenzeichen Prussia - long service medal Prussia - Combatants-club cross Lippe-Detmold - 1897-medal Lippe-Detmold - 1905- medal Lippe-Detmold The combination is quite unique and unfortunately the mini-chain of Friedrich Multhaup was sold separately. My dear friend Rick knew the big medalbar of F.Multhaup for sure...does anyone else know, in which collection the big medalbar actually is? Best regards Roman P.S. Sorry for the poor picture quality, but my scanner is not working any longer :-/
    13. Looks original...although the photos are not the best. BR Roman
    14. ...and finally the one with the highest value for me. It was issued for my great grandfather :-) Best regards Roman
    15. Here is one from Lippe-Detmold, belonging to a small group of a brave soldier, who got several times wounded...
    16. Difficult to say...I had the complete archive-file of this batch in my hands...it was just a MESS ! A lot of lists with names, partly crossed, partly awardlists, partly only suggestions. I know two guys, who are planning to create the rolls, but I seriously warned them, due to the chaotic file. Even my dear friend Reiner Schwark just guessed the number of awards... BR Roman
    17. Here is another nice batch, not shown yet...."Feuerwehrehrenzeichen 25 Jahre Lippe-Detmold". Believe it or not, for this award no clear rolls exists...sad but true! BR Roman
    18. Hi Gents, here is my latest purchase...unfortunately without a name. It is a nic NCO-medalbar, maybe a "Sanitaeter" or even a doctor. I hope you like it. BR Roman
    19. Hi Dave, the LDH4bX is the civil honour cross, so a LDH4aX makes much more sense. It is quite interesting, that he also got the KVK quite late. Best regards Roman
    20. Thank you...I´m already down at around 35 candidates (I erased all Lakai and guys, which were born after 1847 plus the guys from Lippe-Detmold). In addition I cancelled awards after 1905, because the silver merit medal is definitely an early award made by Büsch and the early thick medal type. But still more than one potential candidate left (So far I skipped the guys, whch didn´t appear with their first name in the rolls): Phillip Krug (two entries with the same name in the EK-list) Friedrich Luchte and my favorite Gustav Meier (Sek. Lieutnant Jaeger Bat. No. 9). But none of them I was able to find in the Almanach 1904-1905...so either they died before or none of them was the former owner. It remains tricky... Best regards Roman
    21. Hi Rick, can you check the following guy for me? Heinrich Hilker, born in 1848...sVM and EK2 1870 as Gefreiter im Garde Schützen Regiment I was able to find. BR Roman
    22. Hi Rick, thank you so far...as I already mentioned...this is not going to be easy. I already did the cross check with the EK2 1870 list last year (my son is just learning reading and writing....so I will have one or two more years). But guys like "Meyer" made it impossible. BR Roman
    23. This one is simply killing me...no possibility to ID it But nevertheless it is a nice bar, of course with Lippe-Detmold. Best regards Roman
    24. So far I´m not yet dreaming of any research, so I sleep quite well...and I still have two pieces in my collection, which I cannot ID (pre-1918)...that´s hard enough. Best regards Roman
