    1. Hi, here is the probably rarest lifesaving medal of Imperial Germany. The lifesaving medal Lippe-Detmold was awarded only 20 times until 1918 :-) BR Roman
    2. May I introduce this gentleman? It is Georg Heinrich Kirchhof, born in Detmold in 1837, Oberst in IR No. 129, wearing beside the house order Lippe-Detmold 3rd class with swords also the house order Lippe-Detmold 2nd class with swords at the ring as one out of 11, who got this award. So the photo should be pretty rare :-) BR Roman
    3. Yes, but according to Rick´s rolls it was a war merit medal. That´s why I´m pretty sure, the big medalnbar still exists, because Rick must have known it. At the miniature chain, there is also the cross of "Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen" Prussia missing, that´s why I´m not putting much trust on it. Maybe missing items were replaced by the wrong awards (e.g. KHD cross Prussia). @ Chris No...green would disturb the whole image BR Roman
    4. Hi, I would like to show you my latest purchase, combined with a research question. It is the ribbonbar of Friedrich Multhaup, Fuerstlicher Bauerverwalter in Detmold (born 7th Sept. 1861 in Detmold). It contains of - war merit cross / war honor medal Lippe-Detmold (non-combatant-ribbon) - golden merit cross HO Lippe-Detmold - Leopold-order Lippe-Detmold merit cross - silver merit cross HO Lippe-Detmold - cross of Allgmeines Ehrenzeichen Prussia - long service medal Prussia - Combatants-club cross Lippe-Detmold - 1897-medal Lippe-Detmold - 1905- medal Lippe-Detmold The combination is quite unique and unfortunately the mini-chain of Friedrich Multhaup was sold separately. My dear friend Rick knew the big medalbar of F.Multhaup for sure...does anyone else know, in which collection the big medalbar actually is? Best regards Roman P.S. Sorry for the poor picture quality, but my scanner is not working any longer :-/
    5. ...and finally the one with the highest value for me. It was issued for my great grandfather :-) Best regards Roman
    6. Here is one from Lippe-Detmold, belonging to a small group of a brave soldier, who got several times wounded...
    7. Difficult to say...I had the complete archive-file of this batch in my hands...it was just a MESS ! A lot of lists with names, partly crossed, partly awardlists, partly only suggestions. I know two guys, who are planning to create the rolls, but I seriously warned them, due to the chaotic file. Even my dear friend Reiner Schwark just guessed the number of awards... BR Roman
    8. Here is another nice batch, not shown yet...."Feuerwehrehrenzeichen 25 Jahre Lippe-Detmold". Believe it or not, for this award no clear rolls exists...sad but true! BR Roman
    9. Hi Gents, here is my latest purchase...unfortunately without a name. It is a nic NCO-medalbar, maybe a "Sanitaeter" or even a doctor. I hope you like it. BR Roman
    10. Hi Dave, the LDH4bX is the civil honour cross, so a LDH4aX makes much more sense. It is quite interesting, that he also got the KVK quite late. Best regards Roman
    11. Thank you...I´m already down at around 35 candidates (I erased all Lakai and guys, which were born after 1847 plus the guys from Lippe-Detmold). In addition I cancelled awards after 1905, because the silver merit medal is definitely an early award made by Büsch and the early thick medal type. But still more than one potential candidate left (So far I skipped the guys, whch didn´t appear with their first name in the rolls): Phillip Krug (two entries with the same name in the EK-list) Friedrich Luchte and my favorite Gustav Meier (Sek. Lieutnant Jaeger Bat. No. 9). But none of them I was able to find in the Almanach 1904-1905...so either they died before or none of them was the former owner. It remains tricky... Best regards Roman
    12. Hi Rick, can you check the following guy for me? Heinrich Hilker, born in 1848...sVM and EK2 1870 as Gefreiter im Garde Schützen Regiment I was able to find. BR Roman
    13. Hi Rick, thank you so far...as I already mentioned...this is not going to be easy. I already did the cross check with the EK2 1870 list last year (my son is just learning reading and writing....so I will have one or two more years). But guys like "Meyer" made it impossible. BR Roman
    14. This one is simply killing me...no possibility to ID it But nevertheless it is a nice bar, of course with Lippe-Detmold. Best regards Roman
    15. So far I´m not yet dreaming of any research, so I sleep quite well...and I still have two pieces in my collection, which I cannot ID (pre-1918)...that´s hard enough. Best regards Roman
    16. Argh...I had this medal in my mind, but yesterday evening it was too late and I was too tired to check the rolls. BR Roman
    17. Ah...then I have to talk to Daniel...Is the list for the cross for heroic deeds already done? I still have the plan to digitalize it (the 1st project with higher priority), although it is going to be tough. I don´t know, if it is really paying to have list of theawards post 1918, because most of the awards (especially the house order) were politically motivated. Best regards Roman
    18. Hi Christophe, difficult to say...I think it is a civil medal, maybe from Lippe?! Nice picture anyway. Best regards Roman
    19. But this would result into a second project...the award list post 1918 exist and I know, that an access is possible. Best regards Roman
    20. FORGET IT!!! I already have an option on EVERY piece of Lippe-Detmold, which will be sold in the future :-) Below you will find an nice example (I´m pretty sure, Rick will like it).....ooooooh, is there a mistake in the award-date?????!!!!!! :-) Best regards Roman
    21. Hi Matthew, I checked the statutes and my assumption was correct...for honorable, long-time members of one of Detmold´s veteran-club. The cross had to be returned after death and was awarded only 226 times. Best regards Roman
    22. @ Utopis It is a good one without doubts. Schwark shows exactly your type in his book, too and if you search within this topic, you will find an example with chiffre LA backwards. The cross is an older one, made by Carl Büsch, Hannover. The enameled center of the rose is the clear evidence. Is it a golden or silver gilden cross? And do you have a name of the former owner? @redeagleorder For sure the owner must have been a honourable member of a local Detmolder "Kriegerverein" (veteran´s club). Once I will have access to Schwark´s book I can translate the important requirements stated in the statutes, if you wish. Best regards Roman
    23. Hi Alex, thank you for the additional information. The information on the airplane I got from a German Marine expert, he was also identifying the type :-) BR Roman
