    1. And the winner is......... Oh noooo..... There are two possible winners: 1) Paul Goschin, F?rstlicher Leibj?ger in Detmold 2) Heinrich Hildebrand, K?chenkalefaktor Both got the 1905-medal I?ll scan the list of the recipients for Rick, so he is able to make a cross-check. Sorry, there is still no ID possible... Greetings Solomon
    2. The cross on Ebay is a poor fake...be aware! The seller is Wilfried Freitag from Bad Driburg...some of you may know him. It is not the first Heldentat-cross he sold in the past few month. Niemann?s crosses look better, but they don?t match with the awarded ones from Zimmermann, Pforzheim. I?m very unsure with both crosses Greetings Solomon
    3. Well done....but...next week I?ll visit the archive and I?ll try to make you some more work with Lippe-Detmold rolls. The list of the recipients of the 1905-medal is still missing and waits to be written again from you Greetings Solomon
    4. Here is the interesting detail from the signed receipt of the golden merit medal of the Leopold Order from Max Glocksin (No. 66). He awarded the medal on Novemebr, 11th 1918 and got the fitting document together with the statutes on October, 16th of 1919. The Lippe-Detmold documents are so rare, because I?m buying everything I?ll get I just bought two days ago a nice award document for the war merit cross incl. the paper-role in which it was sent to the recipient Greetings Solomon
    5. Very nice picture... This one (General von Francois) maybe didn?t risk his own life Greetings Solomon
    6. Hi Greg, what do you want to know about this nice pinback-cross? Here you can find some information: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=7563 Indeed, it was high bravery decoration...the heroic deed had to be described very well and the soldier had to risk his own life. It?s a bit more difficult, but for the time of the WW1, you may say it was the highest bravery award Lippe spent. Greetings Solomon
    7. Do you mean the military merit medal, which is missing??? It?s absolute correct that this medal isn?t any longer at this medalbar The former owner awarded the war merit cross Lippe-Detmold...and he had to return this medal! (I know, many didn?t do that...but he did, as the statutes told him). The medal is also mounted at the correct place...before the silver merit medal and after the golden. So everything is fine Greetings Solomon
    8. Tztz, I didn?t teach you well in awards of Lippe-Detmold... At the medalbar, I mentioned, there you can find also the military merit medal (with swords, also on the ribbon) and the golden merit medal (awarded in November 1918!!!). Sure, it is a war time bar, but the former owner might be a "Lakai", who served at the front and at the court of the Prince... for example as a forrest worker ("Forstaufseher" = the possible owner of the bar I described) or as a hunter ("Leibj?ger"). P.S. Please remember the date of the award: November, 11th of 1918... It?s the date of the resignation/abdication of the prince of Lippe-Detmold. Greetings Solomon
    9. Please wait two weeks I?ll visit the archive in Detmold again and I?ll try to get a copy of the award rolls for the 1905 enthronement remembrance medal. My bet would be Mr. Paul Goschin, I know a quite similar medalbar. (military merit medal - golden medal Leopold Order - Hindenburg-cross) The owner (I?m quite sure I identified it correct) was a "Forstaufseher" (Rick, please look at No. 66 ). So, give me some time and the ID of this very nice bar will be solved. Greetings Solomon
    10. Nice to see the "other" roses...at least only one order I have from Schaumburg-Lippe...a special one, I already showed you. Here it is again: Order for art and science 2nd class Schaumburg-Lippe (cross type 1902-1918) on a bow-style ribbon for women There were 119 awards between 1899-1918 for the 2nd class, 30 women got it. The first class was awarded 35 times... The showed belongs to Sanna Klara Valentin-Strandberg (called "Lilly Walleni", a opera singer), who got it December, 12th in 1913 as "F?rstlich Lippische Kammers?ngern" in Hannover. She also got the order for a. and s. 2nd class with oakleaves ("Lippische Rose 2.Klasse mit Eichenlaub") Lippe-Detmold in February 1914. Greetings Solomon
    11. Hi Glenn, great work Thank you very much...interesting career, especially for me a Lippe-Detmold collector. The regiment No.55 (6. Westf. Inf. Reg. No. 55 B?low von Dennewitz) was the only regiment Detmold had... And the photo must be taken in 1888 (as printed on the back by the photograph)...really interesting! Greetings Solomon
    12. Superb!!! I never thought, it was IDable.... Thank you very much! Greetings Solomon
    13. I already showed it...here: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=11084 He is wearing: IC 2nd class 1870 campaign medal 1870/71 Oldenburg HO 2nd (?) class with swords Lippe HO 3th class Upps, I made a mistake...he is not wearing the 3th class (and later 4th class of the HO) It?s impossible to say if it is from Schaumburg or Detmold, because until 1890 these crosses were identical . At the back you can find the year 1888 (in the sign from the photograph in Berlin), but I don?t know if this is the year when this photo was taken. By the way, the last medal on medalbar of Hermann Sturhahn was identified as Liyakat-medal (on another online-board). Greetings Solomon
    14. Oh, another (early) one with a LDH4a I also have...yet not identified...
    15. Thank you again...yes, it?s Hermann Sturhahn...your guess was right! It?s my first picture with the LDH4b...quite hard to find Greetings Solomon
    16. and the second picture...with ribbon-bar. It was taken in February 1917...the clasp "1914" can be clearly seen. Greetings Solomon
    17. and the back of this picture: "Meinem lieben Schwager Erich M?llmann zur Erinnerung an den sch?nen unvergesslichen Tag meiner Verlobung Jerxen, d. 14.November 1915 Dein (???) Hermann Sturhahn Gruppenf?hrer beim 1. Lazarethzug I. B.A.K. Rick, do you have some more data from Hermann Sturhahn ? With 151 awards the LDHO IV b was not often awarded... Very interesting is, that he got the war merit cross with the combatant-ribbon... normally he had to award the IC 1914 2nd class before, I don?t know why it is missing!
    18. A closer look on his medalbar, where you can find: -war merit cross Lippe-Detmold on combatant-ribbon (!!!) -House-Order Lippe Detmold. IV.class 2nd Division (!!!) -Prussia red cross medal 2nd class -Prussia red cross medal 3th class -Bavaria cross for "freiwillige Krankenpflege" with clasp "1914" on ribbon -unknown medal (long service medal ???)
    19. Hello gents, these two nice pictures, I got from ebay: They show a "Gruppenf?hrer beim 1.Lazarethzug I. B.A.K. (=1st Bayrisches Armeekorps Munich)" 1. This picture was taken on November, 14th of 1915
    20. Your are kidding, don?t you? These long service bars are very, very rare and were awarded only a short time (1857-1868)...71 awards for this one (20 years). Greetings Solomon
    21. I?m sorry, I don?t have the names for the MVM with swords...(1945 awards!). I have only some names for the medal without X. But you are absolutely right. After awarding the merit cross LD, he had to return his MVM. But many didn?t... The ID won?t be easy, to many possibilities. Greetings Solomon
    22. Wow, very nice NC-medalbar (although the war merit cross has a combatant-ribbon...) with a rare cross of the Leopold-Order Do you know the former owner? Was it a doctor? You MUST show us the rest of your Lippe bars Greetings Solomon
    23. Hello Rick, I?ll try to explain that (I hope I?m right): Each person you listed changed his "old" LDH3 (with the Chiffre "LA" -A stands for Adolph from Schaumburg-Lippe) into the new design of the LDH3 (with the Chiffre L -L stand for Leopold from Lippe-Detmold), because after the conflict between Detmold and Schaumburg nobody liked to show any longer the insignia of the "enemy". Difficult to explain.... Greetings Solomon
    24. 2) nice patina...very different to the first one, different core... Greetings Solomon
