Please wait two weeks I?ll visit the archive in Detmold again and I?ll try to get a copy of the award rolls for the 1905 enthronement remembrance medal. My bet would be Mr. Paul Goschin, I know a quite similar medalbar. (military merit medal - golden medal Leopold Order - Hindenburg-cross) The owner (I?m quite sure I identified it correct) was a "Forstaufseher" (Rick, please look at No. 66 ). So, give me some time and the ID of this very nice bar will be solved. Greetings Solomon

Nice to see the "other" roses...at least only one order I have from Schaumburg-Lippe...a special one, I already showed you. Here it is again: Order for art and science 2nd class Schaumburg-Lippe (cross type 1902-1918) on a bow-style ribbon for women There were 119 awards between 1899-1918 for the 2nd class, 30 women got it. The first class was awarded 35 times... The showed belongs to Sanna Klara Valentin-Strandberg (called "Lilly Walleni", a opera singer), who got it December, 12th in 1913 as "F?rstlich Lippische Kammers?ngern" in Hannover. She also got the order for a. and s. 2nd class with oakleaves ("Lippische Rose 2.Klasse mit Eichenlaub") Lippe-Detmold in February 1914. Greetings Solomon

Hi Glenn, great work Thank you very much...interesting career, especially for me a Lippe-Detmold collector. The regiment No.55 (6. Westf. Inf. Reg. No. 55 B?low von Dennewitz) was the only regiment Detmold had... And the photo must be taken in 1888 (as printed on the back by the photograph)...really interesting! Greetings Solomon

I already showed it...here: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=11084 He is wearing: IC 2nd class 1870 campaign medal 1870/71 Oldenburg HO 2nd (?) class with swords Lippe HO 3th class Upps, I made a mistake...he is not wearing the 3th class (and later 4th class of the HO) It?s impossible to say if it is from Schaumburg or Detmold, because until 1890 these crosses were identical . At the back you can find the year 1888 (in the sign from the photograph in Berlin), but I don?t know if this is the year when this photo was taken. By the way, the last medal on medalbar of Hermann Sturhahn was identified as Liyakat-medal (on another online-board). Greetings Solomon

and the back of this picture: "Meinem lieben Schwager Erich M?llmann zur Erinnerung an den sch?nen unvergesslichen Tag meiner Verlobung Jerxen, d. 14.November 1915 Dein (???) Hermann Sturhahn Gruppenf?hrer beim 1. Lazarethzug I. B.A.K. Rick, do you have some more data from Hermann Sturhahn ? With 151 awards the LDHO IV b was not often awarded... Very interesting is, that he got the war merit cross with the combatant-ribbon... normally he had to award the IC 1914 2nd class before, I don?t know why it is missing!

A closer look on his medalbar, where you can find: -war merit cross Lippe-Detmold on combatant-ribbon (!!!) -House-Order Lippe Detmold. IV.class 2nd Division (!!!) -Prussia red cross medal 2nd class -Prussia red cross medal 3th class -Bavaria cross for "freiwillige Krankenpflege" with clasp "1914" on ribbon -unknown medal (long service medal ???)

Hello Rick, I?ll try to explain that (I hope I?m right): Each person you listed changed his "old" LDH3 (with the Chiffre "LA" -A stands for Adolph from Schaumburg-Lippe) into the new design of the LDH3 (with the Chiffre L -L stand for Leopold from Lippe-Detmold), because after the conflict between Detmold and Schaumburg nobody liked to show any longer the insignia of the "enemy". Difficult to explain.... Greetings Solomon

Yes, I?m sure it is :-) By the way, Manfred von Richthofen also got a reward from Lippe-Detmold. I showed a copy of the original signed receipt, I found in the archive of Detmold. The shown document is only one of a (almost) complete group of documents...I?ll show you the rest, when I?ve collected all the information. Greetings Solomon

Hello gents, I?ll show you a very nice document for the silver merit medal Lippe-Detmold It?s for the hoboist (=musician) Gustav W?he (from the Inf. Reg. No. 55 = 6.Westfaelisches Inf.Reg. B?low von Dennewitz, the only regiment Lippe-Detmold had) W?he awarded this medal on June, 20th in 1905. The document was originally signed by F?rst Leopold IV. of Lippe-Detmold. The award was spent 593 times. I hope you enjoy it like me... Greetings Solomon
