    4. Thank you! This is a wonderful addition and it's most interesting to know about the man behind the medal.
    5. That's an amazing group! Do you have any details on Colonel Fraser DSO?
    6. Thailand - Only 6,180 Thais served in Korea.
    7. France - only 3,763 men servied with 280 killed, 1,008 wounded, 12 PoWs and 7 missing.
    8. Turkish UN Medal (with red ribbon) and veteran's badge. The traditional UN blue and white ribbon was swapped out by some Turks as those are the national colors of Greece. 14,936 Turks served in Korea.
    9. I remember when there were parades on base in Saudi, where I was working, the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces (RSAF) had a marching band with bagpipes. As I remember, there were a couple of Brits who had been hired to teach them how to play. They hadn't quite got it down and it didn't seem to go with the Saudi uniforms. I recall the Saudi National Anthem being played, but never Amazing Grace.
    10. Here's a new one. Fahnen-Vereinsbedarf Fritz Kindler Baden-Baden Lichtentalerstrasse 10 Black on white cloth Stitched on four sides
    11. It is indeed a S. African Medal as he was in the Umvoti Mounted Rifles. It's named, but sadly the rest of the medals he earned aren't with this one. Check posting number 12 to see the cap badge, collar insignia and the shoulder titles. I'd especially like to have his MM! : )
    12. A new badge - silver with blue and red enamel. Liecestershire Prisoners of War * Comforts funds William White Ltd. Birmingham
    13. Have you started a thread that I can read on that? : )
    14. Obverse 25030876 Pte. A. Mitchell QLR (Queen's Lancashire Regiment)
    15. Obverse 25035166 Pte. B. J. Copson, Royal Anglican If anyone knows why he was MID for N. Ireland, please let me know. Thanks in advance. : )
    16. True, I've only got two or three of them with original ribbons; something worth getting as they look much different to the WWI CdeGs.
    17. Hi Harry and a Happy New Year to you too. Thanks very much and I look forward to reading your article. It's odd as one shows that he was KIA but the other dying of Black Water Fever; I'm sure there are many incongruences in the records. I can understand how he might have died of disease as I lived in Africa and got malaria and know many many others who got it too. I've also been to that area in northern Tanzania and found it very beautiful, but from all the things I've read about campaigning out there, it was hell. Thanks again and I look forward to reading what you write. : )
    18. These are beautiful and so rare. Thank you for sharing.
