    1. Hello to all! I am looking for information on whether this medal is real or not. Any help wold be appreciated. Dean
    2. Andreas, Thank you for the tip. I wasn't sure what I needed to show with the pictures. I will take your advice and focus more on the medal itself. I have a bunch more that I would like to post on this forum. Dean
    3. Ferdinand, My mistake, thank you for the forum link. I have a bunch more that I would like an expert opinion on. Dean
    4. muckaroon1960 and Ferdinand, I have looked up this medal on the Soviet-awards website and looked real to me. I wanted a second opinion from others who have more experience with these medals. Thanks for your help. Dean
    5. Rick, Thanks for taking a look at this ribbon bar. I certainly learned something new from your analysis and this whole thread. Dean
    6. Rick, The catch looks stamped as you said. It does not appear to be glued or soldered, but stamped or punched out. I included the pictures below. Dean After removing backing
    7. Dan, It looks like a WWI wound badge. But I quess it is actually a post-war or 57er. Darrell posted information after me. So much for my first try at trying to contribute something meaningful from my limited knowledge. Dean
    8. Kevin, It sure does have a "Bling-Bling" look. I agree, it looks like it should be a keychain. I thought I would post it just to make sure. Thanks. Dean
    9. Hello to all! I got this medal a few years ago also. I am looking to see if it is real or fake. Any help would appreciated. Dean
    10. Hello to all! I got this medal a few years ago and I am wondering if it is real? Any help would be appreciated. Dean
    11. Hello to all! I am looking for information on this medal. It was labeled as Cossack Medal of Archangel, Michael for Excellency when I got it. The medal and ribbon look new. I am looking for when it was issued, why it was issued and if it is a copy (which I think it is). Any help would be appreciated. Dean
    12. Rick and Dan, I am willing to do surgery on this ribbon bar and photograph the details of its construction. Give me some time with this and I will post the pictures. If this can help with spotting fakes, I am more than willing to help. Dean
    13. Dan, I kind of thought this would fall into the fake category. I have seen other posts and thought that the SS runes on this bar looked similar to those, but I was not sure. Like you, I am not an expert and wanted an official ruling. You are right, the ribbons look very new. After reading your post, I took a closer look at the cleft between the runes. The cleft on this ribbon bar is very, very narrow, not well defined. Thank you for the information. Dean
    14. Hello to all, I would like comments on whether this ribbon bar is real or fake. Any help would be appreciated. Dean
    15. Matt, That is what I thought at first, but 4 of them didn't make any sense. Dean
    16. Hello to all, I am told this is a post-war production of a Third Reich ribbon bar. The whole bar is made out of fabric with a black felt-like back. There are also three small hooks on the back, one is missing. My question is: What are the last 4 ribbons on the bar? I have been told they are Austrian. Any help will be appreciated. Dean
