Hi all, This looks good to me and assuming it's just a normal WWI Victory medal. But wanted to confirm as the owner thinks it might be bad for some reason. So I leave it to the experts.

Sure hope you find one before too long! My problem is I LOVE the enameled Orders more than anything... and of course they're generally the most expensive. How I'd dearly love a Hohenzollern Order, an Order of the Crown and an Order of the Zahringer Lion. But probably going to have to settle for copies as I fear they are all well beyond my budget. My latest addition to my 57 collection... courtesy of Christian. Many thanks my friend for the award and the use of the pics: I never realized they'd reissued these in 57 as well but Grant and several others confirmed it. It's another one I'm eagerly awaiting it's arrival in the mail from Germany. Can't wait to see it in person! Dan :cheers:

Once upon a time I had a nice Hamburg and let it go. Would love to get a full set at some point but I don't tend to find too many bargains in Imperial awards... wish I could. Hi Mike, I know... I basically thought the same thing when he told me this. But I understand as he's normally not into militaria... western memorabilia is more his thing. He got this stuff and now he's seeing alot of the German end up bad. He knew going in some was but I can understand how disappointing it is. But he's treating it as a learning experience so he'll be better prepared in future. I think it comes down to grasping at straws. I know we've all been there at some point or another along the way. Another quick question on this one. The owner has heard somewhere that "original" copies by this maker could be worth up to $400. I think this is incorrect... I believe I've seen these or similar before but just passing along what he's been told. Is there any truth to this or is this just a common fake and worth little or nothing? Dear Rick, In translating the wording the only word I can get is Pompiers which is Firefighters. But I can't get the others to translate. So definitely something to do with the fire department and again I think it would be in Paris. I was given a keychain when I was in high school French by my teacher. It's from Paris and has that same ship/water symbolism on it. And of course this has the flames on the edges. Hoping someone may come up with more info yet. Thanks!!!! Dan :cheers:
