Many thanks Chris! I deeply appreciate the help. I'll veer off. About given up on getting one unless I have to spend a bloody fortune. Wish I'd never let my original go way back in the mid 80's. Traded it for a very nice cased EK1. Was fairly new to it all, really really wanted a cased EK. Long before the net of course. Just Der Gauleiter, Manions, word of mouth, flea markets and gun/militaria shows. Oh well... live and learn I guess.

No maker's mark on ring. No idea if anyone can ID maker or not. Proper three piece construction, magnetic, a VERY tiny bit of movement of the core in the frame. Other than needing a ribbon it's a beautiful EK in hand. Many thanks in advance for any help. Dan

Hi all. I've "finally" managed to get a set of hangers but I need the belt loop with the attachment rings for the hangers to go on my brocade dress belt. Many thanks V.Perlet. Actually it's one I spotted on the web and was wondering what it was. I'd posted over on WAF as well and they nailed it down as the center EK from the 57er German Cross in Gold. I knew I'd seen it somewhere but just couldn't remember last night. I had the same thought re: vets organization but as to which one there's no telling. But at least one part of the mystery is solved. Thanks again! Dan

Hi all. I know this is an old thread but saw it was on the Imperial naval buttons. There's a youtube series of a girl and her mom who mudlark over in the UK and they found what I believe is an Imperial German naval button. I've found examples to match but not one with the rope border around the outer edge of the button. Have I missed the mark on this or is it a rare type or what? Hope one of y'all can help out on this. Every try to find a Bundesmarine dagger? I've seen two since starting to collect in the 70's. One at a shop in Minneapolis/St. Paul ($100 and so wish I'd grabbed it!) in the mid 80's and one I managed to snag off Ebay a couple years ago. Sadly that one had the pommel changed out to the WW2 version. I've always been told that so many of these had that same fate... having the WW2 pommel put in place of the post war Bundesmarine pommel which replaced the swaz with the anchor. I'd very much like to be able to obtain one of the Bundesmarine pommels to put my dagger back to it's original form. But after years of searching I have yet to find the post war pommel. Plenty of WW2 pommels... real and fake... but no post wars. So I'm wondering... where in the world have all those post war ones gone to that were removed and replaced with the swaz version? By the by, if anyone has one they'd be willing to part with please let me know. I'd love to try and work something out on one. Many thanks! Dan
