    1. If you just got it from Detlev then why the value question? Great piece, excellent vendor, enjoy. Dan
    2. Thanks Rick, Its amazing how a Lt Col singlehandedly stoppped the whole von Schliefen plan! Turning out to be an interesting character. I guess his decoration confirm the notion he was well connected and respected for a Saxon among JUnkers Dan
    3. I've been trying to find details on the career of this Saxon Officer, famous/infamous in the battle of the Marne. Can someone provide me a brief career outline, decorations. I think he was awarded the PLM. But don't really have any details. Thanks, Dan Cole
    4. The big stone marker that says "Richthofen" is currently in front on the entrance to the Luftwaffe base at Wittmund which is in Northern Germany by Wilhelmshaven. Wittmund is is Home of "Geschwader Richthofen" of the Luftwaffe. Go to find a grave and you can find pophotos of the Wiesbaden site also,
    5. What is this or am I missing something? http://cgi.ebay.com/Imerial-German-WWI-Pru...1QQcmdZViewItem It MUST be real because "Catmom" is bidding on it!
    6. [attachmentid=34310]So the connected U-R isn't a solid detail that can pigeon hole it to a 57er piece.
    7. My favorite author is Enrst J?nger. During my visit to Wilfingen once upon a time his museum was unfortunately closed. However recently the good folks there (Frau Monika Miller-Vollmer) sent me some great photos of his decorations, which prove PLM owners had more than one. In the first photo with the award doc you can't really tell much, but the second it clearly looks like a Steinhauer and L?ck piece! Or am I mistaken? His Gold Wound badge is a cut out varient and his HHOX doesn't have a ribbon and unfortunately the glare hides the details. None the less, Ernst J?nger.s Pour le Merite from the Ernst J?nger Haus in Wilfingen. Vielen Danke Frau Miller-Vollmer f?r die Fotos. Dan Cole
    8. Here' one I had at one time. I think it was fairly rare. I ended up selling it back to the dealer I got it from because I think it was real, but faked. The swords didn't seem correct. They were'nt screwed in. Perhaps I was wrong. Dan Cole
    9. Here's an interesting item.. Considering only about 16 were awarded. Correct? Item number: 6608154620 http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/ws/eBayIS...mMakeTrack=true
