Once upon a time I found a listing of battle clasps and the associated divisions. Can someone provide me with something like that? I can't find it again. I'm in a heated debate wiuth a US Govt historian over the battle clasps to the Rainbow Division. I have a Rainbow Division Victory medal and he is trying to tell me that it should have more clasps. I don't think so. I personally believe that while the Army may have updated which clasps go to which divisions, that doesn't mean a WWI period piece should be so equipped. It'd be appreciated. I think that is awesome! I got the same criticism when I built von Richthofen's bar. I ended up trashing it and buying a new mandolin (and a very expensive one from the sale of the individual pieces). Wilfried Freitag in Bad Duisburg can hitch you up with the needed ribbons for your project. I'm particularly sensitive to this issue. I invested a lot time, MONEY and love finding and assembling v. Is it possible that the picture in Post #5 was taken at Kaiser Wilhelm's funeral? von Mackensen was a big supporter an monarchist and I have read he attended in full uniform. He seems to have the same position of esteem as a von Richthofen, and Rommel.

I think the red and yellow is the Russian Order of St. Anne. I agree with the Serbian call as pictired, but is the ribbon wrong, or is the medal/cross wrong to the ribbon?

I had a bar once that was to a Oberstleutnant Schulze Kommandeur Reserve Ersatz Regiment No.4. Schultze that had the combination of EK2, HHOx, Oldenburg, Hamburg, RAO4, 25 Year and Centennial. What I don't know is what is the Colonial Denkmunze fur Weisse for and what are the last 2 ribbons.

Hello Hendrick, I have looked on each piece with my 10x loop and do not see any maker marks of any kind. The pins I am referring to are located just below the blue ring ant the 6 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions. I will try and get a close up with my digital camera. The little bump is the pin at the 6o'clock position in this enlargement.

Hello Hendrick, Here are the 2 Ld'H. I haven't been able to find a maker's stamp. I am only finding the smalll pin which I assume is holding the centers in place. I'd appreciate any info. Thanks, Dan

My question concerning the centers revolves around the 2 peices I have. One center is shiny like gold, the other looks more like a silver gilt. Both pieces are the 1870 dated pieces. Can someone tell me about the centers? I have a picture of my cousin who was awarded the Legion of Honor in WWI. His center is missing in the period photo. I'm curious if it may have fell out, or if it was gold was it taken out? I'll post photos when I get my scanner back up tonight. Thanks, Dan

Here's a couple of winners I picked up somewhere along the way on ebay. Genuine wearer's pieces!!

I believe they are at Burg Hohenzollern in Hechingen, Germany. I was there on several occasions and they have a fabluous collection of decorations belonging to the von Hohenzollerns. Definately Wilhelm I, and I think Wilhelm II also as I recall. Well worth a visitm but off the beaten tourist route. Hechingen is south of Stuttgart about an hour. Dan
