Hi Paul, I?m sure that there?s no need to tell you that you?re getting into a highly specialized area with these ?titles?. I?ve seen originals going for well over a $1000 and, of course, there are a myriad of fakes out there. To even begin to give an opinion on the picture you?ve supplied would be, to say the least, difficult. Considering the amount of money involved, I?m sure the seller would be able to supply much better pictures so that an opinion could be offered. Sorry, not much help in the short term.

It?s always best to post nice large pix so that we can see details of the badge, but going on the maker mark, alone I would have to say that this badge is a copy. If you follow this link, you?ll find an example of a ?JMME&SHON? Para badge with the correct style of maker mark. Hi Firemedals, The FB service medal looks OK (silver 2nd class, me thinks).. However, I have a few concerns as to it being original to the bar, seeing that the corrosion has no corresponding stains on the ribbon, from what I can see. Could you post some full pix of front & back of the bar..? Then we can have a good look-see and come up with an answer for you.

EK2, KvK (without swords), Honour Cross, 1st class 'Faithful Service' Cross in Gold for 40 years.

This one also has the Rumanian "Crusade Against Communism" service medal. Maker marked 'P. Grant'

Hi Richard, Firstly, a very warm welcome to the Club. I wouldn't mind seeing some larger pix of the 'SC', but from what I can see... I'm afraid I don't like this example. The 'CEJ' mark is incorrect with the well known modern 'J' and the maker mark is a lot larger than on known originals. The pin also looks to be post war '57 series. Original 'Juncker' pins are of the 'coke bottle' type with a slight up-turn at the tip. The 'Cross of Honour for relatives of the Dead in Spain' is a certainly a fake.. All originals are plain backed. These L/12/Godet marked pieces have been out there for quite a number of years.. Advice, steer well clear of them.

Nice to see that they were stylish enough to be worn off duty, period 'Ray-bans'.. Sorry, continue.

Luftwaffe Maritime Personnel (Seem?nnisches Personal). During a little research into coastal air squadrons and air-sea rescue, in particular, I came across some information on the little known units that manned the air-traffic control ships and boats (Versorgungsschiffe) that were responsible for overall safety control within seaplane bases and for the sea rescue service. From 1935 to1940 the members of these units were mostly civilian workers, changing to Luftwaffe personnel at the onset of war. As well as their duties with the air-sea rescue squadrons, these units were equipped with AA weapons and used in the North African campaign as anti-aircraft ships (Flakkampff?hren), covering the supply convoys bound for the ?Afrka Korps?.. During these convoy duties, these ships were often involved in gruelling combat with allied aircraft, suffering huge casualties. It was due to these units that the ?Luftwaffe Sea Battle badge (Seekampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe) was instituted in November, 1944. Here is the, rather striking, insigne of the ?Luftwaffe Marine?. It came in silver (NCO) or gold (officers). As can be seen, this example is the officers version.

And that 'one and only' is a very fine example of a 2nd pattern (J2) Juncker. One of the harder P/O's to locate. Very nice, Jos.

Having done a quick 'Google' search, it would seem that the Stuka School, in Graz, was one of the main training centres for dive bomber pilots.. As to the entry.. Either he became operational or, did his check-out on stukas so that he had the instructor qualification.
