    1. Last one for now. Two more really interesting ones to come, but they are too large for my scanner .
    2. trade union doc. Note the back ground, it's a NIB tade union badge seen elsewhere on the forum.
    3. A trade union 60th anni. celebration of some kind.
    4. Something about Shockworkers, output, and achievement . Interesting though that this was issued after the fall of the Communist Govt. I guess life went on as usual for most people.
    5. I'm really impressed with all these documents Ed, I particularly like the herder badge docs. you posted in that thread!! Great stuff!! Just thought I'd add these "certificates of achievement/commendation" or somthing close to that. This first one is something about the 50th anni. of the revolution! Too much to translate right now but I'll sort it out eventually! Cheers JC
    6. An intersting link , although mostly in Mongolian there are some english sections and a few pictures of famous mongolians! JC famous mongolians and politicians
    7. Anytime Ed. Just to put a face to the name, here is President Natsagyin Bagabandi at the UN!!!
    8. Here is yet another attempt at translating.... JC
    9. Great Documents Ed. Looking forward to the translation! This one is a little off topic, but i thought it might be of some interest. It's just a fun little Document awarded to a Mongolian. Rick, I saw you just got a group with one of these, would it be unusual for it to have been awarded to a foreigner? Thanks. JC
    10. Hi Ed, Here is a picture of my rather battered case, but it's what's on the inside that counts!!
    11. Ed,I can't thank you enough!!! I really appreciate you getting this translated! I wonder though what exactly " sending gifts" refers to but I'm very happy all the same! These two documents are the perfect example of why RESEARCH is so wonderful and invaluable! I can't wait 'till research becomes on option!! Who knows what we'll find.. A Khalhin Gol vet. perhaps! Great stuff!!
    12. Hi Ed, I had a look at mine, and ours are identical. So that would make yours a "small birdie" variation also! Maybe Paul Murphy will correct me but I think I'm right! Cheers. JC
    13. And now for the interesting bit. It's a Type 2.4!!! And the fun doesn't stop there. There is an "X" engraved at 10 o'clock and a hand engraved mintmark was removed from the 8 o'clock position! The polar star never fails to entertain that's for sure!!! JC
    14. So I've got a bit of a problem. I just got this documented type 2, and I'm a little unsure as to what the actual award date is. I've added the numbers in as best I can and as you can see there are two, 4 digit numbers and two dates. Which is which? For comparison I've included Bob's Type 2 document which is exactly the same as mine, including the two signatures on page three. Above the suspected serial numbers I've written "ser." These two numbers also correspond to the serial numbers on the awards (2082 and 1774) so that's a pretty safe bet. The date remains a bit of a mystery though. In my doc. there are three dates, two of which are the same. One date can be found on page one and page two, year 44, month 9 , day 6. That would make it 1954! The second date is on page three and that is (Year 34, month 4, day 3) this would seem the most likely date for the award, 1944. But what are the other dates and numbers for? Help! JC ps. the bottom one is mine (1774), and more of Bobs doc. can be seen on the first/second page of this thread
    15. A great set of groups Ed! long service or not that's a nice collection of awards Mr.Gezegt had. Congratulations!!! JC
    16. 455 litres from 9 cows!!!! And a special "thank you!!" to my Fiancee for helping me with the hand written cyrillic. Not to hard for her, since she was born no more than a few hundred miles from the Mongolian border near Novosibirsk! JC
    17. Finally a little something to add to this thread. An award document for a J03 from Choibalsan Province renamed Dornod in '63. Awarded to a great "milker". I've been translating it and with the exception of a few words I've got a very complete translation, and I'll be posting that in the next day or two. I must say I like the look of Jan's Zavhan Province document more than this one but I'm not complaining!!!! Cheers and enjoy. JC
    18. Hi there Bob, The document in question isn't actually an award document. The document is actually a record of the amount of work done by the man. The number (366) may refer to a worker number or something, but not to an award as such. Other than the fact that I got them together there is no guarantee that the two belong together. I believe from a cursory look that the last few pages of the document list the requirements/criteria for receiving an udarnik badge and also perhaps the benefits once it's awarded. I might be wrong but I'll let you guys know once I've got some of the translating done. Cheers JC
    19. Are all the awards listed on that site fakes???? I thought I'd be able to tell by now. JC
