    1. No consecutive awards in Yugoslavia Gentlemen, Ivan "Priamida" posted in this thread http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?s=&showtop...st&p=164882 , that there had not been consecutive awardings in Yugoslavia. Best regards Christian
    2. Dear Ivan, many thanks for your exptertise . So, your Grandfather got 2cl & 1cl, but no 3cl . The matter of consecutive awards might be finished for Yugoslavia. Best regards Christian
    3. Gentlemen, does anyone have material about the statutes and regulations of YU-Awards ? Till which time - 1992 ? - had they old communist awards being confered ? What about catch-up awards ? Does the chancellery of orders in Belgrade still take care for the old YU-Awards, as Moscow does ? Many thanks for your contributions . Best regards Christian
    4. Dear "Usairforce", these two RBs are no RB #4 ? Scans are tiny, but at the first glimpse both RBs look rather problem free . Best regards Christian
    5. Dear Nejc, great collection for that short time . What might be the current price range of a "Spomenica", if such an item would be at the market ? Great old "Brotherhood" 1cl and "Partisan" 2cl . Best regards Christian
    6. Bulgarian "Order of Labour" - awarded consecutive Gentlemen, William "new world" pointed out an another thread http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?s=&showtop...st&p=164017 , that the Bulgarian "Order of Labour" had been confered in consecutive way: First 3cl, then 2cl and 1cl. YU-Orders ? BTW: The matching medals of the two YU-Orders in question represent somehow a 4th class of these orders ? Best regards Christian
    7. Dear Nejc, nice order with old patina . BTW: Does anyone know the statutes and regulations of YU-Awards ? Best regards Christian
    8. Dear Ivan, nice award . Did are Grandfather also receive first the 3cl & 2cl, so that "Merit to the People" might maybe have regulations of consecuteive awardings, like Soviet, Glory, Labour Glory & Motherland - or like the Bulgarian "Order of Labour" ? I had been asking about consecutive awardings in that thread: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=16736 . Best regards Christian
    9. Dear Vic, no, Mr. Nilsson is a serious "comrade" ape, as there had a lot of them been in the Soviet Union . Best regards Christian
    10. Gentlemen, years ago I got from a friend in Belgrad that JRM-sticker from the Yugoslav Navy. It is made of cloth and has a sticky rv. with glue for attaching to surfaces. It's rather small with a diameter of about 5 cm. Does anyone know, what has been the use and the function of that sticker ? Best regards Christian
    11. New photograph of my cap Gentlemen, Mr. Nilsson borrowed the cap from me : Best regards Christian
    12. Dear Sperans, many thanks for your expertise . Best regards Christian
    13. Dear Doc, great piece . Looks rather old - 1940s or 1950s ? Military ? The first step for a research might be to get out, who had issued the badge, which ministery, etc. I had been always looking out for a "Meritorious Doctor to the People ...", but never found such badge - my brother is a MD, who served as an emergency doctor for almost 2 years in the Austrian army. Best regards Christian
    14. Dear Christophe, wellcome back on board commander . Best regards Christian
    15. Citation (eng. trans.) of Matt's Flag 2cl awarded to Bruno Kepnik in 1967 Gentlemen, that's written at the large document, Matt showed to us at the other thread (see my posting above): By order (= Ukaz) from the President of the SFRJ Josip Broz Tito, order No. 13 of the 11th of february 1967, we award with that order to Mr. Dr. Bruno Kepnik, General Director (= CEO) of the Federal Railways of Austria (= OEBB, state railways) for his merits in developing and strengthening the peaceful cooperation between the SFRJ and the Republic of Austrian the ?Order of the Yugoslavian Flag 2nd Class?, which is stated by that document. Chancellery for Orders in Belgrade, 11th of february 1976. (Signature of the Chancellery?s officer.) I am not sure, if the no. 13 refers to the number of orders of Marshal Tito in the year 1967 or if it is the serial number of that order ? I personally intend to the 1st version, because I assume, that in 1967 more Flags 2cl had to be issued already. Best regards Christian
    16. Dear Ilja, that's a really nice military & labour group of that sergeant and shows, that the same heros of the GPW had been also heros in the sphere of economics . I specially like such groups . Do you intend to have the group researched ? Best regards Christian
    17. Gentlemen, in my view the numbers of the years are 100 % ident, which proofs, that Kim's badge shouldn't be a fake - besides the overall qualities of Kim's badge. There are some other (rare & highpriced) badges with s/n. AND without s/n.: For example the badge to the title "Meritorious Pilot of the CCCP". I have one in my collection without s/n., but it is documented, that both versions (and two differnt versions of rv. & mintmark) do exist. Maybe Kim's badge was really unissued, as Bryan "Soviet" pointed out. I don't agree with the verdict of that guy from the "other" Soviet forum, who simply said: "It's a fake!". Best regards Christian
    18. Gentlemen, the answer of the question should not be so difficult . I already put a the question also to our new YU-section at GMIC, because he is rather well known at the Westbalkans. Three more hints: As you can see on his Austrian uniform, he served in the airforce. He hold top position in the Austrian Army (till 1938) and in the German Wehrmacht (till 1945). He had been borne at the Balkans. Happy hunting . Best regards Christian
    19. Igor presents another case of a clerical mistake with a "Order of Glory" group Gentlemen, Igor presents at his website another interesting case on a Glory-group 2cl & 3cl: http://www.collectrussia.com/DISPITEM.HTM?ITEM=16955 . Sorry ..... still no reply of the researcher . Best regards Christian
    20. New quiz-question deals again with Yugoslavia The new question No. 97 deals again with Yugoslavia: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?s=&showtop...st&p=164011 . Please try your luck . For the members of the GMIC-YU-section it shouldn't be too difficult to find the correct answer . Best regards Christian
    21. Dear Vic, many thanks for the interesting facts . The two MiGs had been trainers, I guess. Maybe they still use the old YU reference codes for their aircrafts ? Serbia is the legal successor of old Yugoslavia and JAT http://www.jat.com/active/en/home.html is still named JAT - and not SAT . Best regards Christian BTW: JAT is one of the most secure and save airlines in the world: No crashes at all! Excellent pilots & good maintenance.
    22. Dear Nejc, if you look into the official phone directory of Vienna, you will find 2/3 of all entries with a pure slavonic name . Vienna had been in the 19th century the same as New York today: A melting pot of nations. I can't remember, if Bruno Kepnik's familiy had been genuine Slovenian, but as an influential person in the state service he did a lot for the slavonic countries in Eastern Europe - specially Yugoslavia and Poland. Another fact is, that the Slovenian Nation lives in 2 countries: Republic Slovenia AND Austria, Carinthia. The Slovenian language - as Croatian & Hungarian - is a official language in Austria and specially the Slovenian Nation has special minority rights in Austria, but since years big problems with the right-wing prime minister of Carinthia, Joerg Haider . In the 1980s Austria had a Federal Prime Minister (Bundeskanzler), who came from the Croatian minority in the province Burgenland: Dr. Fred Sinowatz . In Vienna the genuine German-Austrians are a minority . Best regards Christian
    23. Dear Filip, looks like, if the binoculars had been 1945 produced for - or by - the Soviet Army ? At your second scan you can make out a small star, hammer & sickle and the inscpription 1945 g(odina). Are the binoculars from ex-YU? Tito got tons of military stuff from the Soviets during & after the war. If it should be the case, then please show the 2 scans also at the new GMIC-section for ex-Yugoslavia http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showforum=192 as a own thread. We have some experts there. Best regards Christian
    24. NEW QUESTION No. 97 Gentlemen, who am I ? In WW II I had something to do at the Balkans and you see me at the photograph in an Austrian uniform. Question: 1) Who am I? 2) Where I was borne? 3) Where I died? Best regards Christian
    25. Nadezhda Konstantinovna Krupskaya Dear Jim, that has been really easy . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nadezhda_Krupskaya In younger years Krupskaya had been an outstanding beauty . Best regards Christian BTW: Some wheeks ago I already put a Krupskaya-question here at the quiz, asking for the "Krupskaya-Medal" .
