More correctly the Belgium Decotration for Labour I Class. denoted by the Gold Crown abd Rosette on the ribbon. II Class is in silver with no Rosette on the ribbon. No military connectiion what ever by the way. Kevin in Deva.

Hundreds of current and former soldiers attended the event at Tamworth Castle in Staffordshire, which marked the formation of the new Mercian Regiment. Charles told soldiers bathed in bright sunshine on the castle's parade ground, that he had no doubt that they would "stand firm and strike hard" in their new unit. The ceremony saw the formal "re-badging" of the Cheshire Regiment, the Staffordshire Regiment, the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters and their associated Territorial Army battalion. Post 48:- Medals are left to right: The Emperor Franz Josef Jubilee Medal for the 50th Anniversary of the Kaiser's reign (1848-1898), commonly called the "Signum Memoriae" medal, for military personnel it is all red. The other is the 60th jubilee cross was instituted by Emperor Franz Joseph on 14 August 1908 for 60th anniversary of his Reign. The ribbon being white with two thin red stripes. Hallo love4history, Sorry to say I didnt get it, I like the design though, Can you give any link to the regulations concerning this item? It seems a lot of bother to just give a badge out to a soldier who was recovering from wounds, when a leave / convalescent pass would have had to have been issued as a matter of course?
