Romania Romanian Ribbon Bars
Kev in Deva replied to Greg Collins's topic in Central & Eastern European States
I must ask, were there even females in service the Romanian Military Forces? this bar represents an officer, and if so would it be possible for a woman to achieve such awards? as I have never seen any reference to women in either pictures or written documents, or on gravestones which, as they carry a picture of the deceased an invaluable reference record. H.M.S. Liverpool
Kev in Deva replied to Thomas Symmonds's topic in Great Britain: Militaria: Badges, Uniforms & Equipment
Kilburn was another Irish area, but a lot, and I mean a lot of Irish socializing was done around Cricklewood, particularly on the weekends. The lads also used to stand outside "The Crown" every morning and building contractors would take them on for a day on the "Black" i.e. no tax. Many a dream foundered on the streets around the area. Haa! CRICKLEWOOD in London, "The Crown" to "The Roman Way" one time the hub of Irish expats living and working in the London area, where many a Paddy got "the start". Kevin in Deva. -

Hallo Leigh I think he is looking for items to do with the third reich quasi-scientific-loony tunes group, http://greyfalcon.us/Ahnenerbe.htm funded by the ss, who headed off to the wilds of Tibet to get evidence to prove the crackpot racial ayrian supremacy theories Kevin in Deva. -

Can we be a wee bit more specific? as the word "anyone" posted by itself is not very helpful. Kevin in Deva. -
Romania The Romanian Securitate
Kev in Deva replied to Greg Collins's topic in Central & Eastern European States
Recently, I sold some items to a fellow G.M.I.C. member, and hopefully he will add pictures to this thread, amongst which was a Brevet which stated his (the owner of the items) position as the Chief of the Securitate Office in the mining town of Petrosani, Hunedoara County, Transylvania, Romania. Romania The Romanian Securitate
Kev in Deva replied to Greg Collins's topic in Central & Eastern European States
Hallo GC, IMHO I think you have a good idea, in your above post, (I do not claim in any way to be an expert) but I do attend many Collectors Fairs here and a lot of items are being pushed as "Securitate" are not connected specifically to this organization. There are awards and medals specific to the "Securitate" but, unless you have the Brevet stating that, then the chances are the person was not a member. Kevin in Deva.
