    1. Hallo Gents, any ideas with regard this Finish bar, that I had in my hands today at the Collectors Fair in Timisoara? Sorry for the slightly blurred image. Kevin in Deva.
    2. May he + Rest In Peace + Sympathy & Condolences to his family, friends & Comrades
    3. Many thanks, as many members are not German speakers and the Forum language is in English
    4. In English please for those members not living in Germany Kevin in Deva
    5. Or possibly some weird Wiemar Private made Freikorp award Can you manage a better resolution picture of the award? Kevin in Deva.
    6. The shape reminds me of some Croatian Orders The shape of the device above the pocket a Tank? or part of the award? Kevin in Deva.
    7. Hallo censlenov In my opinion its an original one, as well. Also one of the unique groups to which these Emergency Service Medals were awarded. Prices have been affected slightly by the Economic down turn, but I have seen these sell well on a certain internet selling site particularly when listed on the American version. I do not believe there has been any serious attempt to fake them as yet. Kevin in Deva.
    8. You obviously have a problem in reading and understanding basic English, in which my posts were made. And please do point out where I used the words, "your item is no good" in any of my posts and further more please do show where I made a low offer for your item! As you posted outside the Sales Area on a Public Forum, specifically in the:- Germany: Medals & Militaria > Germany: Post 1945 German Awards, Militaria and History you invite comments and opinion with regards the item posted, Any member of the public, before they part with their money has a right to ask questions, be it at militaria shows, online sales or on a Forum such as this, about any item they wish, hopefully that's not too hard for you to comprehend. Kevin in Deva.
    9. The whole purpose of this Forum is to promote discussion with regards the objects in our hobby in a Gentlemanly manner if you have an attitude problem when questions are asked with regards the items you post that's your concern, but, seemingly getting a straight answer in comprehensible English is a problem for you, (perhaps English is not your first language. ) But, my understanding is, that a set of items, are items that come from an original owner and to be able to claim that, there is normally some type of Provenance available. Because the items were sold to you that way does not necessarily mean they were originally that way. I find it odd that the large medal bar, even if a 57er, should have such a basic mistake as the K.V.K. first and the Iron Cross second, the original owner certainly would have known the items were assembled in the wrong sequence, and had the mistake corrected, in this day and age to many items are turning up, that are very modern fabrication and people interested in these items from a collecting point of view have to have the right to ask questions, so as to learn if the item is an original period manufactire or a modern fabrication. Kevin in Deva.
    10. Hallo Kev, I am not implying you put the items together, but, if the large item is a post WW2 put together, which possibly means assembled for the purpose of selling, why would the wrong ribbons and medal combo feature in the order of the layout? The combination of the two items a s a set raises more questions than answers. I cannot imagine how the owner would have had an incorrectly assembled large size bar from the period of WW2 and a correct mini bar alongside. I presume there was no Provenance or paperwork naming the original recipient? Kevin in Deva.
    11. Kevin1261, confusing, I thought you said the large bar was sold a number of years ago? if its (the large bar) in that configuration then the possibility is the mini chain items are not related to the large bar. Kevin in Deva.

      Fakes?

The most recent fake / repro was made in the UK as part of a series of the rarer Inter-Allied Victory Medals, all made of the same metal and with a chocolate Brown colour / patina and with the British Style Inter-Allied Medal Rainbow ribbon. It does not have the wooden box that the originals were issued in. The original seller of these items, declared them for what they were & sold them as Repros, however unscrupulous dealers have bought and sold them on as originals A problem that would have never arisen if the maker of the Repro medals had marked them as such. The other type is in a more brassy material with design flaws to the rear which are a dead give away once you see pictures of the original item. Kevin in Deva.

      Fakes?

For starters:- The Japanese version of the Inter-Allied World War 1 Victory Medal has been copied / faked in recent years, at least two versions are out there. Kevin in Deva.
    14. Hallo Kevin, nice sentiment in trying to relocate items, that have been seperated, But as with any item that is for sale and as per forum rules you are required to state a price, postage rates and method of payment, as well as putting the item in the Sales Section. Kevin in Deva,
    15. May I ask what are the dimensions of the medal & weight? Any maker marks or silver hallmarks? Kevin in Deva.
    16. A loose translation from the Romanian to English would be " For Credible Service," often given for military merit. Kevin in Deva
    17. Its known as "padding out" and while not illegal, as long as the vet does not start adding award he or she is not entitled too, I see very little harm in it. Back in the days of yore, the gentlemen officers purchased privately designed and made commemorative medals in gold or silver for themselves. Kevin in Deva.
    18. Some interesting pictures inside:- Japanese military delegation on a visit with Maresuke Noghi. Kevin in Deva.
    19. While at the Museum I purchased this book:- about the building of the forts and defenses around Bucharest prior to WW1. Kevin in Deva
