    6. You have all seen these before, nothing overly special, (Newfoundland Volunteer Medal), belonged to Lt M S Strong RNVR.
    7. What color is it? Black or Blue? If it's blue that would be for an Obergefreiter in the Medical branch. Black would also be for an Obergefreier but in the Reichsluftfahrtministerium or the Reich Aviation Ministry Hope this helps

    14. Now as most of the NVA could have passed for TR, I am going to assume that waffenfarbe stayed the same, if I am wrong could someone set me staight. Ok green is for the Grenztruppen, this works out better as will be seen in a couple of minutes.
    15. Air Force Stabsoberfahnrich, I don't know whether they are the old or new style pip's though they have thelook and patina that would suggest older. The rest are all pairs
    16. Well as Paul asked, and never one to turn down to oppertunity to show my stuff, here's my bit's of East Germany. A single board for an Obrestleutnant, from what I have been told in subdued feild colors, I don't know what branch of service though.
    17. Very nice Please do continue posting, I have a few and can see some of them here.
    18. Hi Paul I scaned it flanked by 2 medical SB's to show the diff in blue. But then upon further reaserch I find that these are for a supply officer, and their attachment is "Mercury's Staff" and is listed in the same waffenfarbe as medical staff. So the diff in color is probably a manufacture thing. Mercury delivered his messages with miraculous speed because he wore winged sandals. He also wore a broad-brimmed hat and carried a winged staff. Mercury's staff had snakes curled around it to protect him in his travels. Some more info. In January 1944 the Army instituted a new career for officers and certain officials entitled TSD. This new career used a blue waffenfarbe and did away with secondary colors as worn by officials in other careers. On 1 May 1944 all high grade career Administrative officials were transfered to the TSD.
    19. Thanks Paul. Could someone explain to me post #38
