here are a nice picture of U 178 and his first cdr. Kapit?n zur See (!) Hans Ibbeken.

U 178 was 1943 under the command of Korvettenkapit?n Wilhelm Dommes (knights cross)

the first "Monsun-u-boat" at Penang!

I collect all from and about the german monsun-u-boats, special U 178!

Yep... 199 was my post. I can't claim it was my mistake, though... captions were added before I was born.

These pics are supposed to be from the Sweedish intelligence. Doesnt really matter to me if they are or not... I just like the pictures, and find some of them to be rather unique!

thank you for the picture. It shows the first cdr. of U 178, Kapit?n zur See Hans Ibbeken with his niece in Bordeaux.
