benten Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Joe, my compliments for these tinnies. I think the paper "tinnie" is very rare.Cheers,Benten
BURGERHAUS Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 Joe Thanks for showing some of you WHW. I agree with Benten about the paper piece. It amazes me how well it has survived all of these years. It looks as if it spent about 50 years in between the pages of a book. Do you remember how it came into your collection? Happy New Year All Robert
--dj--Joe Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 (edited) Benten, Robert, I thank you both. I remember being told the paper tinnie was thought to be rare but I never looked further into it. Robert, I picked it up from a well respected dealer/collector.Now for another, not rare but I like it. Undated and unmarked.Plastic with silver painted obverse.--dj--Joe Edited January 2, 2007 by --dj--Joe
Wood Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Quite a lot of WHW items have been posted in the tinnie database, I wonder who will sort that out? :-) But to add a few:-
Wood Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 (edited) This one is on a long ribbon almost like a choker. Its thin pressed metal. Edited January 3, 2007 by wood
Wood Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 (edited) A ticket for something. A typo on the picture, again! Obviously it should read WHW. More work to do, re-editing my pics!! Ho Hum. Edited January 3, 2007 by wood
Wood Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 I thought that this was the set. Its a repeat pic. from the tinnie database.
Wood Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 A couple more of the Tag der Wehrmacht series. I think.
--dj--Joe Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Wood, interesting WHW items. I wonder if the piece on the ribbon was a book mark or to wrap around a book?--dj--Joe
Wood Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Good idea Joe, certainly better than a sideways choker. Just in the process of re-sorting my frames of tinnies, so they are everywhere!! I'll try to sort out the WHW for this thread. More Scanning etc.etc.etc!!!!Pete
