    I don't know what happened to this poor Legion d'Honneur cross, but there's a lot of work to do... for a cross not worth more than 30 euros... :(

    Personally, I would just leave it as is, a relic condition Ld'H. No amount of TLC is going to make this mint again. It appears to be a early 1870-1951 variation with a gold center. Probably awarded for the Franco- Prussian war or early WW1 (1914-15). Do you know the particulars of how and when it was found?

    I agree!!! There is just SOOOOOO much to be "fixed" I'm afraid more damage would be done to it. I have a Belgium order with small leaves on it, most missing part or all of the enamel. I left it alone, just happy that I have one. As for a ribbon, check the OMSA Ribbon Bank. They may or may not have it.

    youl be surprized!! i at least can get the white arms fix on it and that should improve it no end!! and thanks for the info on the ribbion do you have a link cos my PC is acting up!!thanks! :beer:
