EK 1914 Strange marking on an EK 1, 1914

Hello,

Looks like your typical Weimar Eagle over the letter "M".

to my knowledge,

these were made expressly for Kriegsmarine recipients

and are rather rare.

i have one, but am not at home currently, so will

attempt a picture in the next 24 hours.

I hate to be a nay-sayer but I don't think those marks are the same.

KAG's and eagle W's. no pictures, at any rate.

Well,I hate it to be the bringer of bad news-this is no K.A.G! The stamping is a fake.The core looks a little like a "KO",but the pin doesn't match-it looks more like the pin of a "CD800",but it isn't.Sorry,but I wouldn't like to have this EK in my collection.It seems to be that someone has found an"old" stamp.....

A month or so ago, there were a lot of these fakes floating around

ebay. Some marked KAG some KO many were unmarked.

Patina on the back looks chemical applied. This one has so many red flags. The pin and hinge, not imperial I think.
