Well, just overpaid for the Order of the Reign of Savang Vatthana (I have the bronze and Silver... the seller said one silver to 100 bronze.... but I have no idea)

And a Order of civic merit.

Does anyone know of a source for the Sylvester book which covers this area? I don't ven have correct name or publisher.

Nothing covers "the area". The Sylvester book (and I, too, have trouble remembering title) is just Vietnam as I recall and just in the context of the US war there.

John Sylvester published two monographs on Laotian medals:

Sylvester, John. Orders and Medals of Cambodia and Laos. NP, 1986

Sylvester, John. Orders and Medals of the Communist Governments of Indochina. NP, 1986

Both were self-published and I doubt even John has extra copies. They weren't real strongly bound, so they fall apart easily with use. As a result many may not survive at all.

I was fortunate enough to get a set of John's notes a few years ago. They are extensive, detailed and fascinating. I'm sure the forthcoming book will be a masterpiece.
