    again, one must look at the "color" of the metal.

    one of the things that strikes me often on these fakes

    is the "unnatural" color of the metal. it doesn't have the

    typical natural deterioration of 50 or 100 or 150 year old metal.

    the alloys used look like alloys.

    i know this isn't terribly scientific, but it IS a matter of

    seeing enough of the real mccoy to get a sense of

    what isn't real....
